CLAUDIA JARETH GUILLEN - 2 yo (2004) - Yuma AZ

It's been almost five years
since a mother and her child disappeared, and investigators still don't
have answers. Claudia Guillen (21) and her two-year-old daughter
Jareth went missing November 24th, 2004. Claudia's car was found in
front of a Yuma restaurant, her apartment was empty, and her boyfriend
wasn't talking.
"There has not been any reported sightings of them, no contact with
family members," says Capt. Eben Bratcher with the Yuma County
Sheriff's Office.
Investigators believe there is more behind these missing persons cases.
"It's difficult to say that we have a murder investigation on our
hands. Unfortunately, at this point, I have to say that we do strongly
suspect that there has been foul play involved."
Deputies say they intitially interviewed Claudia's live-in
boyfriend, Ricardo Salgado-- a man they say has a long history of
domestic assaults. Then Salgado skipped town.
"As the case proceeded and we continued to look into it, we learned
that he had gone to Mexico. We contacted the authorities there who
located him and also interviewed him," says Bratcher.
Still Salgado is a free man but remains a person of interest. Today
investigators do not know if they will ever find Claudia and Jareth
alive.
"We would like to know if there's anyone out there who has
information as to what happened to Ms. Guillan and her child, or if
they can show us any possible location where we may be able to find
her."
To this day, no arrests have been made in the disappearance of
Claudia and Jareth. Anyone with information is urged to call the Yuma
County Sheriff's Office or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous.
