Rashonda Robinson is charged with involuntary manslaughter and child endangering.
Police are continuing to investigate the death of a two-year-old boy. Rashonda
Robinson is charged with involuntary manslaughter and child endangering
after a family member found her son's body lying on the lawn. The
child's aunt, Tabatha Robinson, says her sister was unfit to care for
the toddler. "He didn't deserve to die. Not at all," said Robinson. She
is left wondering what happened to her nephew, two-year-old Isiah
Robinson. On
Monday afternoon, police responded a 911 call for help with an
unresponsive infant. The boy's stepfather found the toddler's body
lying in the grass. Police say Rashonda was frantically asking for help
from neighbors before hiding underneath the porch. Her sister says
the 19-year-old suffers from psychological problems and her reaction to
the situation was out of fear. "She's just not all there. She's not
responsible. She doesn't know, and I don't even think she knows right
from wrong," said Tabatha. The coroner is investigating the
death as a possible suffocation, but they are waiting on further
results before making a final ruling. Rashonda Robinson is
facing involuntary manslaughter and child endangering charges, but
Tabatha says regardless of her psychological problems, her sister would
never intentionally harm her child. Robinson is being held on $150,000 bond and is due back in court next week.

		motion for this court to retain jurisdiction over the
		defendant pursuant to R.C. 2945.39. Hearing held.

		The court finds by clear and convincing evidence that:
		1. The defendant committed the offenses with which she
		was charged, and
		2. That the defendant is a mentally retarded person
		subject to institutionalization by court order.
		The court further finds that the Northwest Ohio
		Developmental Center is the least restrictive commitment
		alternative available that is consistent with public
		safety and the welfare of the defendant, giving preference
		to protecting public safety.
		It is therefore ordered that the defendant is committed to
		the Northwest Ohio Developmental Center for a period not
		to exceed 10 years.
		It is further ordered that the defendant be transported
		from the Lucas County Correction Center to the Northwest
		Ohio Developmental Center on Monday, July 18, 2010.
		It is further ordered that the Northwest Ohio
		Developmental Center should submit reports in writing as
		required by R.C. 2945.401.
		It is further ordered that the defendant be placed on a
		one on one supervision level until further order of the
		court.
