Howard County police arrested a 26-year-old woman early Sunday morning
for abducting her 2-year-old son from his grandmother’s house in
Columbia the previous evening.
Jennifer Nolan, 26, of no fixed
address, was charged with second-degree assault, reckless endangerment,
violation of a protective order, hiding a child and abduction of a
child by a relative after abducting her son, Kingston Nolan Gresser, 2,
from the Columbia home of her mother, police said.
Nolan, the
boy’s biological mother, was arrested during a traffic stop at 1:45
a.m. Sunday in White Marsh, Baltimore County, a police spokeswoman
said. The boy was returned to his father, who has temporary custody in
an ongoing custody dispute, the spokeswoman said.
Nolan filed
charges against the boy’s father with a court commissioner on Jan. 7,
after which the father was temporarily arrested by police. While the
father was in custody, the boy was turned over to Nolan's mother, who
lives in Columbia.
Nolan abducted him from the grandmother’s
house at about 8:10 p.m. Saturday, police said. The father was later
released by police and took custody of the boy, police said.
Nolan,
who formerly lived in Jessup and Columbia, was being held Monday on
$50,000 bond at the Howard County Detention Center, police said.
