The Laclede County Sheriff confirms Todd Johnson's body
was found inside his crushed SUV at the bottom of a rock quarry outside
Lebanon.
Early Friday (1-22) his wife Sheila and 11 year old son
Blake were found beaten and stabbed inside their bedrooms at their home
in north Lebanon.
His 8 year old son was still alive in the home; he had apparently slept through the attacks.
The boy is in protective custody.
Autopsies will be performed in the bodies Saturday morning (1-23).

The
Laclede County Sheriff's Department has just finished its press
conference. Authorities say 30-year-old Sheila Johnson and her
11-year-old son Blake Johnson were found dead. The survivor was
Sheila's other son, an eight-year-old.

Authorities are awaiting
autopsy results to find out an exact cause. They say they also may have
a possible witness. A family member told police they received a message
on their phone to check on the Johnsons. When a family friend showed up
at the house, they found the eight-year-old alive, and he didn't know
that his mom and brother had been killed.

Investigators say Todd
Johnson is a person of interest. Todd Johnson is Sheila's husband and
the boys' father. They say he could also be a victim. He's driving an
Nissan Armada, charcoal in color, and authorities across the state are
currently looking for him.

The Laclede
County Sheriff's Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are
investigating the murders of a woman and a 5th grade boy. He was a
student at Boswell Elementary in Lebanon, Missouri.

The school
district has a preventive lockdown at all schools with extra security
at the entrances. The 5th grader has a brother at another elementary
school, but he did not show up for classes this morning. Police are
searching for him as well as a person of interest.

Investigators
say they want to question a 43-year-old man who may be driving a 2007
GMC truck with Missouri license number 1HH-951. The man also has a 2005
Nissan SUV with Missouri license SF1-X9B.

Law enforcement
officers found the victims early Friday at a home north of Lebanon, but
investigators think they were killed Thursday night. The home is near
Atchley Park.

Authorities are investigating this as a probable
homicide, but have not provided information on the cause of death. They
do not have a motive yet.

The Laclede County Sheriff says the body found in a quarry Friday afternoon has been identified.

Authorities towed the vehicle from a quarry one mile north of Lebanon.

Sheriff Wrinkle has 'tentatively' identified the body as that Todd Johnson.

Family members had to identify the body by scars and marks due to the wreckage.

The sheriff says an autopsy is scheduled for Saturday morning at 8:30.



(Lebanon, MO) -- A mother and her 11-year old son are found dead in a home Laclede County.

The Sheriff's Office says the two were murdered at home in 19000 block of Goldenwood Lane.

The
Laclede County Sheriff's Office says 30-year-old Shiela Johnson and
11-year-old Blake Johnson were found dead in two separate rooms in this
home.

An 8-year-old boy was found alive and safe at the home.

We've also learned that a car was found in a nearby rock quarry with a body inside.

That
car matches the description of a car that Sheriff's Office was looking
for and belonged to the father and husband of these victims, Todd
Johnson.

We do not know the identity of the person who is in that car.

The car was just removed from a rock quarry on the east side of Lebanon around 4:30p.m. this afternoon.

The car was found in the water and it had be towed out.

We do not who the victim is inside the car.

Blake Johnson was a fifth grader at Boswell Elementary School.

The
Sheriff's say a relative received a message and alerted police to check
on the well being of the people at the home around 7:00a.m. this
morning.

When a family friend arrived at the house, an 8-year-old answered the door.

Troopers then found the Sheila and Blake dead in different bedrooms suffering from blunt force trauma and stab wounds.

That 8-year-old child has been taken into protective services.

Both
elementary schools who those children attended were placed on
preventative lock down by the district as a precautionary measure.

People in the neighborhood say they are shocked the family was great and everyone only had nice things to say to me about them.

Family
friend Tony Lucas says, "they were a great family. You know they cared.
It's hard to believe what happened, because they loved their kids, they
loved each other."

Superintendent of Lebanon Schools Duane
Widhalm says, "our thoughts and prayers go out to this family because
it's very devastating and obviously our staff and students are taking
it very difficulty."

The Sheriff's Office says it believes the murders occurred between 10:00p.m. last night and 4:00a.m. this morning.

The Johnson family is very well known in the community.

Todd managers four Sonics in the area. Corporate decided to close those business today.

The
entire community is upset and of course they are still reeling from a
triple murder back in October when the Smith's were killed in their
home and Zack Porter in an apartment in Lebanon.

Lebanon -- A southern Missouri man apparently killed himself on the
same day his wife and son were beaten and stabbed to death, authorities
said.
Authorities were looking for Todd Johnson as a suspect in the deaths of
40-year-old Sheila Johnson and 10-year-old Blake Johnson when his body
was found Friday afternoon in a
car at the bottom of a quarry.Autopsies
were conducted Saturday. Laclede County Sheriff Richard Wrinkle said
homicide hasn't been ruled out in Todd Johnson's death, but he suspects
Johnson shot himself before his car crashed into the water-filled
quarry.The last anyone heard from Johnson was an e-mail the
Sonic manager apparently sent to his brother after 5 a.m. Friday."'I'm
in trouble, take care of the kids, here's where my insurance and
financial records are,"' Wrinkle said in describing the content of the
e-mail. "He named them -- 'Take care of Blake and Brice' -- and Blake
had been dead for several hours."His
brother, who is on vacation out of the country, didn't retrieve the
e-mail until after 7 a.m., Wrinkle said. When he did, he called a
friend in Rogersville who works at a Sonic restaurant.Wrinkle
said a family friend was sent to the Johnson home north of Lebanon,
where a younger son answered the door. The family friend asked the
unharmed boy to rouse his mother and brother, but the boy said they
were covered in blood, Wrinkle said.Wrinkle
said the man who received the initial call from Johnson's brother had a
friend "there with him" who had been at Johnson's house.Wrinkle
said it is believed that man was at the house when the killings took
place and that Todd Johnson had brought the man there to steal jewelry
so they could file an insurance claim. But Wrinkle doesn't believe the
man was directly involved in the killings.
