SHELBY DARLENE COATNEY - 16 yo - Pryor/Mayes County OK
Pryor - The Mayes County Sheriff's Office is looking into the disappearance of a 16-year-old Pryor girl.
Shelby Darlene Coatney was last seen at about 10 p.m. Sunday night at
her home near Pryor. At 6 a.m. Monday morning, she was discovered
missing when she didn't get out of bed.
Coatney is a white female, about 5'2" and 115 pounds with brown hair
and green eyes. She is believed to be wearing a lime green, hooded
sweatshirt and carrying a DC back pack that is black, green and white.
Also missing from the home is a .38 caliber revolver with black grips.
Deputies from the Mayes County Sheriff's Office and the Pryor Police
Department searched wooded areas and waterways around Shelby's home,
but found no signs of her.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Mayes County Sheriff's Office at 918-825-3535.

Coatney was last seen Sunday and was reported missing about 6 a.m. Monday.
Also reported missing from her home was a
.38 caliber revolver. Authorities would not release details of the
girl's death or whether the weapon was found — saying only that the
case remains under investigation.

The search for a missing Mayes County teen came to an end Wednesday, with the discovery of the body of the girl.
Shelby Darlene Coatney, 16, was discovered in an area near Roberts Auto Center on South Highway 69.
She
had been reported missing Monday morning when she did not get up from
bed, according to a press release issued later in the day.
Deputies
from the Sheriff’s Office and the Pryor Police Department searched the
wooded areas and waterways around her home on Monday, but found no
signs of her.
Also missing from the home was a .38 caliber revolver with black grips, according to the earlier press release.
Mayes
County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death, along with
assistance from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations.
No official word has been released as to the cause of death, but foul play is not suspected.

was a freshman at Pryor Junior High. It was reported that area
ministers arrived at the school as soon as word of her death reached
them.

Mayes County teenager had died from a self-inflicted gunshot to the
chest.
The body of Shelby Darlene Coatney, 16, was found about March 3 in an
area south of Pryor. She had been missing for two days.
Law enforcement officers from the Oklahoma State Bureau of
Investigation, the Cherokee Nation Marshals Service, several Mayes
County agencies and fire department responders searched an area south of
Pryor after she was reported missing.
