D.C. police are seeking the public's help in finding the woman who
they think picked up a missing boy from his elementary school in
Southeast Washington this afternoon.
Police described the woman, Rolanda Edgar, as black,
five-feet-eight, with a slim build. Police said in a release that she
was last seen wearing a tan zipper jacket, red shirt, and dark
sweatpants.

D.C. police are searching for a 6-year-old boy missing since Monday
afternoon, when he was picked up at a Southeast Washington elementary
school by a woman who apparently has been feuding with the child’s
mother, authorities said.
The boy, Rashaun Robinson, who attends Stanton Elementary School in
the 2700 block of Naylor Road SE, was picked up at the school shortly
before 2 p.m. by a 29-year-old woman identified as Ronalda Edgar, said
D.C. police Lt. Darlene Terry-Weeks.
She said Edgar’s name was on a list of people authorized to pick up
Rashaun at school. The boy’s mother, who put Edgar’s name on the list,
had intended to remove it but had not gotten around to doing so,
Terry-Weeks said. She said Edgar and the mother apparently have been
involved in a dispute.
Edgar showed up at the school and removed Rashaun from class before
the normal dismissal time, Terry-Weeks said. She said the mother thinks
that Rashaun is in danger, Terry-Weeks said. “The mother said that
threats have been made,” the lieutenant said.
Edgar’s and the boy’s whereabouts were unknown as of 5 p.m. Monday,
more than three hours after they left the school. Terry-Weeks said
Edgar does not own a vehicle and might be traveling with Rashaun on
public transportation.
Rashaun, who is black, is about 4-foot-8 and weighs about 90 pounds,
Terry-Weeks said. She said he was wearing dark blue pants and a brown
checked jacket over a hooded sweatshirt with a fur collar. Terry-Weeks
said Edgar, who also is black, was wearing a gray shirt and dark pants.
Her braided, shoulder-length hair was in a ponytail.
