Hermosa Beach - A 16-year-old Long Beach
girl under the care of a residential shelter in Hermosa Beach went
missing on Thursday. Kentisha Lane "was overheard speaking to her
mother on a telephone call and stated, `No one likes me. No one cares.
I'm going to kill myself,"' Hermosa Beach Police Department Detective Mick Gaglia said. Lane
appeared to be upset but had calmed down before disappearing about an
hour later, around 12:45 p.m., Gaglia said. Authorities believe she may
be heading to her mother's home in Long Beach.

Lane is black
with black hair and dark bown eyes. She is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs
188 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black tank top, gray stretch
pants and a blue headband. Police asked anyone with information
regarding Lane's whereabouts to call Mick Gaglia at (310) 318-0348.

HERMOSA BEACH - A distraught 16-year-old Long
Beach girl who disappeared from a residential shelter in Hermosa Beach
was found unharmed, police said Friday.

The teen disappeared from the shelter about 12:45 p.m.
Thursday, after she was overheard talking to her mother on the phone,
saying she felt no one liked her and threatened to kill herself, said
Hermosa Beach Police Department Detective Mick Gaglia said.

She returned safely to her mother's residence in Long Beach
about 10 p.m. Thursday, according to Gaglia, who was unsure why the teen
had been staying at a residential shelter.
