JAMUL — Deputies were searching Monday
night for a missing 19-year-old who is described as having the mental
capacity of a child.
Brenda Luu was dropped off at a school bus stop by her sister near
Hidden Wood Road and Hidden Trail Drive in Jamul about 9 a.m. It is
unclear if she ever made it to Valhalla High School near the East County
community of Cottonwood. She did not come home Monday night.
She is described as Vietnamese and Latina, 4 feet 11 inches tall,
weighing 100 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen
wearing a blue blouse with blue flowers, bluejeans and black tennis
shoes.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts can call the Sheriff’s

An East County teenager who disappeared Monday was located Tuesday
morning in El Cajon, the Sheriff’s Department said.
Someone called police Tuesday after spotting Luu at a bus stop on
Mollison Avenue and East Main Street in El Cajon, about four miles from
the high school and 10 miles from where she lives, said sheriff’s Lt. Harold
Turner.
