ONLABEE BLAINE - 1 yo - (2010) Oklahoma City OK
Oklahoma City OK ---- Police arrested a 28-year-old mother after her
child died from alleged child abuse. Police were called to 3004
Southwest 60th Street on April 30 in response to an unresponsive
1-year-old boy. Paramedics took Onlabee Blaine to Southwest
Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The State Medical
Examiner's office said the child suffered from severe internal injuries. Police
interviewed Onlabee's mother, Brandy Perry, on May 1.
According to court documents, Perry admitted to police she caused the injuries
that caused Onlabee's death. Perry told police while she was
changing Onlabee's diaper, he tried to roll over and she became
frustrated and angry. Perry said she shoved down into Onlabee's
abdomen and she knew at that time the child was hurt. Perry said
she did not attempt to get any type of medical attention for Onlabee
until she found him unresponsive two hours later.
Perry also admitted about a month ago she
"accidentally" hit Onlabee in the face with her hand, police said.
Perry also said there have been other times when she has forcefully
pushed down on the abdomen of the child while changing his diaper
and she could have caused injury on those times, too.
Police said during the autopsy, workers at the State Medical Examiner's Office
ound healing rib fractures on Onlabee.Police booked Perry into the
Oklahoma County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder and child abuse.

An Oklahoma
City woman arrested in connection with the death of her 1-year-old
son admitted to police she knew she hurt him when she became frustrated
and shoved down on his abdomen while changing his diaper, according to a
probable cause affidavit filed today.
The mother told police she did not attempt to get medical
attention for the child until she found him unresponsive two hours
later, the document said.Brandy
Perry, 28, was arrested Saturday. Her 13-month-old son, Onlabee
Blaine, died from what the state medical examiner's office
determined was "massive internal injuries that were sustained from blunt
force trauma."The child's death was ruled a homicide.Police
received a call about 8:40 p.m. Friday and went to 3004 SW 60 on a
report about an unresponsive 1-year-old child. The boy was
pronounced dead at the hospital, and Perry was taken to police
headquarters Saturday where she was interviewed and later arrested, Master
Sgt. Gary Knight said.During the interview, Perry told
police that about a month earlier, she "accidentally" hit Onlabee in the
face with her hand, hard enough to cause his eye to swell and his face
to turn black and blue from the bruising, the affidavit said. She
also admitted there were other times when she forcefully pushed down on
the child's abdomen while changing his diaper, and that she could have
caused injury at those times, the document said."During the
autopsy, there were healing rib fractures found on this child that would
have been more than a week old," police Detective
Tony Foreman wrote in the affidavit.

Hours after her 1-year-old son died from "massive internal injuries,”
28-year-old Brandy
Perry told police she had shoved down on his stomach because he
wouldn’t stop squirming during a diaper change.
The Friday death of Onlabee
Blaine was ruled by the state medical examiner’s office a homicide
caused by blunt force trauma. Perry was arrested Saturday on complaints
of child abuse and murder. In an interview with detectives, Perry said she was mad and frustrated
because Onlabee kept trying to roll over, and that even though she knew
she had hurt him, she did not seek medical attention until she found him
unresponsive two hours later, according to a probable cause affidavit
filed Monday. "If she didn’t want him ... if she didn’t want to be with him, then she
could have gave him to me,” the toddler’s half-sister Starla
Blaine, 24, said Monday. "She could have gave him to my brother.
She could have gave him to my dad.”Neighbors said they were shocked that the woman they saw walking up and
down the street every day with a stroller is accused in the death of her
child. According to the affidavit, it was not the first time Perry hurt the
boy.About a month earlier, Perry "accidentally” hit Onlabee in the face with
her hand, hard enough to cause his eye to swell and his face to turn
black and blue from the bruising, the affidavit said. She also admitted to police there were other times when she forcefully

Foreman wrote in the affidavit. Starla Blaine said she was both angry and confused about what happened."As far as I saw her, she didn’t seem like she would have been like this
at all ... not with her own child,” she said.Starla Blaine said her half-brother was a loving and playful child who
loved his father, Sterling
Blaine, more than anything in the world.Funeral services for Onlabee are scheduled for 1 p.m. today at John
M. Ireland Funeral Home Chapel in Moore.

Oklahoma City mother sent to prison in son's murder
Brandy Shannon Perry, 29, pleaded guilty last month to first-degree murder. She was moved Jan. 27 from the Oklahoma County jail to prison.
She admitted in her guilty plea that she used unreasonable force April 30 on her son, Onlabee Perry Blaine. She told police she hurt him when he began rolling around during a diaper change, according to a court affidavit.
"What she said is that she had shoved down on his stomach too hard while she was frustrated,†a police child-abuse investigator testified in September at her preliminary hearing. "She said she didn't mean to. She repeated a number of times that she didn't mean to do this, that she was sorry."
The boy had been hurt before because the autopsy showed he had healing rib fractures, police reported. The mother's sentence was the result of a plea agreement.
