A national endangered runaway child alert is in place for a missing
Opelousas child and St. Landry Parish Crime Stoppers is offering a
reward for his safe return.
“Family members are very concerned about his safety. Please help us
get this child back to where he belongs,” said Jimmy Darbonne with Crime
Stoppers.He said
his agency is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that
will aid authorities in locating 13-year-old Tyler Blaze Murphy.Murphy
was last seen by his family on Saturday, May 1, and is believed to
still be in the Opelousas or Eunice area.“He has family in
Eunice and may be there,” Darbonne said.

Murphy is
described as about 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighing about 105 pounds
with sandy hair and black eyes.“If you have any
information about this child, please call St. Landry Crime Stoppers at
948-8477,” Darbonne said. “All calls are kept confidential.”Calls

Tyler Blaze Murphy of Opelousas, the 13-year-old who
was the subject of a national missing endangered child's alert last
week, has been found and is safe.
"We got a call from his sister early (Tuesday) morning that he had
turned up at his mother's home in Eunice," said Jimmy Darbonne with St.
Landry Crime Stoppers, whose agency had offered a reward for the child's
safe return. "I met with him this morning. He is OK, he seems to be
unhurt. He has been returned to the Office of Child Services."Murphy had been missing
since May 1. Because of the juvenile's age, Darbonne declined to give
any further information about Murphy's whereabouts during his
disappearance."We
are just thankful this has been resolved," said Darbonne, who thanked
everyone who made calls or provided tips to assist law enforcement.
