Single moms should re-think boyfriend issue
Letter to the Editor:
My heart is so heavy and filled with pain for yet another child who
has been abused and killed. I cannot be still and remain quiet any longer.
Mothers who have been given the given of a precious child to nurture
and love, should realize what a treasure they have been given. How can
they stand by and hear the torture and the beatings and do nothing to
intercede on behalf of their little ones? God presented them with
beautiful children. Their jobs were to love them and keep them safe at all costs.
I cannot understand a woman who puts the feelings of her shack-up
honey before the safety of her child. What is going on in this country?
Mothers have no right to bring strange men into the lives of their
little ones. They should love them and nurture them until they are grown
and out of the house. Then, and only then, should they consider dating
again. There have been too many tragedies caused by live-in boyfriends.
Don't these mothers realize these men have no connection to their
children? These men don't care what happens to those little ones. There
is nothing more important than the love and protection of a child.
Please, let's stop this insanity. They should be alert to signs of
abuse and put the children's needs before their own. If these mothers
stand by and do nothing to protect their children, they are also guilty of abuse.
Why didn't the accused mother in the recent case step in and stop the
beatings or take the child and leave?
Little Ethan deserved more than his short life gave him. I hope he is safe and warm in God's hands.
