8-Year-Old Ran Away After Mom Threatened To Spank Him

DELTONA, Fla. -- An 8-year-old boy ran away from his home after his mother threatened to spank him, according to his family.Tyrese Tiger ran off down Dumas Drive around 6:30 p.m. Friday and has not returned home since, the family said."His mother was going to give him a whooping, and he took off," said Tiger's grandmother, Terri Smith.The family told Local 6 Tiger ran away once before but was quickly found.Around
10 p.m. a witness told deputies she thought she saw Tiger at Wes Cryle
Park off Fort Smith Boulevard, which is about a mile from the child's
home; however, deputies were unable to locate him.The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is using a helicopter and bloodhounds in their search for the 8-year-old.Tiger was last seen wearing a blue and white shirt, denim shorts and no shoes, according to his family.

A Volusia County boy returned home safely early Saturday morning after
he disappeared from his Deltona home Friday night.
8-year-old Tyrese Tiger was reunited with his mother
overnight.Deputies say Tyrese had gotten in trouble earlier in
the day and was afraid of being punished.Deputies and family
members spent hours searching nearby parks for Tyrese.
He was on his own for about eight hours before he was finally spotted in the dark,
sitting on an air conditioner across the street from his house.
