"Infant John" ANDERTON - 16 Months - Farmington (SW of Fayetteville) AR

Charlene Anderton, 18, was arrested early Saturday morning after police
said an officer learned she had left her 16-month-old son alone in a
closet inside her Farmington apartment.The officer was flagged
down by three people who reported the child was left alone. They said
the child’s mother was at a night club on Dickson Street.According
to a preliminary report, the officer was waiting for a manager to open
Anderton’s door when Anderton pulled into the parking lot of the
apartment complex.The officer followed her inside and found a small child,
on all fours, inside the closet with a dirty diaper, police said.According
to the report, Anderton told the officer it was alright to leave the
baby in the closet because he was sleeping and she wasn’t going to stay
out all night. The officer learned the baby had been alone in the
closet without any light, air ventilation or supervision for more than
three hours.Anderton faces charges for endanger the welfare of a minor.
