LESLIE ASHLYN FAIN - 16 yo - Newnan (SW of Atlanta) GA
A Newnan mother wants the public's help finding her 16-year-old daughter.
Newnan Police Department has classified Leslie Ashlyn Fain a
"missing runaway child." She was last seen Aug. 9 by her mother as she
departed from their home at 22 Jacks Drive for East Coweta High School.
According to her mother, Lisa, Leslie said she was leaving for
school on Aug. 9 at 7:30 a.m., and when she hadn't returned home at 5
p.m., her mother became worried. Lisa Fain said she called the high
school and learned that her daughter never showed up. Leslie was
supposed to attend classes at the Central Educational Center during the
day but never showed up there either.
When she checked her daughter's room, she realized there were clothes
missing. There were shredded papers in her room, too, and one appeared
to be a map to a house in Norcross, according to Fain.Fain said this
came out of left field and she can only conclude her
daughter, based on other evidence, met a 22-year-old on the Internet.
"We're finding out things as we go along," said Fain.
Lisa Fain said Wednesday that calls to her daughter's cell phone go
straight to voicemail. Her daughter reportedly called a friend on
Wednesday and left her a voicemail during school that she's OK and to
relay that message to her mother, according to Fain.
"Leslie may be in the company of a 22-year-old Hispanic male who goes by
Oscar Arenas," according to a poster created by the Newnan Police
Department.[Oscar] may be driving a maroon, 2-door Nissan 200 passenger car. Both
may be in the North Carolina area but will likely travel to other
locations. On Wednesday, Fain expressed frustration with the police department's investigation.
"I can't get anybody's help with the police department, and I've tried,"
said Fain. "I feel like I keep having to tell them what to do.
"What I need to do is get the word out to get more help with the
search," she continued. "She's 16 and he's 22, she has no business with
this boy. I'm afraid for her safety. We all need to be working together
to find her."Leslie has long, brown hair and blue eyes. She's 5 feet, 7 inches and
170 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt and beige pants with
her hair pulled in a bun. She was driving a blue, 2000 Toyota Camry. The
tag number is BBH2140.If anyone has additional information, contact the Newnan Police Department, 770-254-2355.
