CHELSEA VANDENBURG - 14 yo - Logan (N of Salt Lake City) UT/WA alerted
Logan police are asking for the public's help to locate a missing teen who hasn't been seen since Tuesday. Chelsea Vandenburg, 14, was reported missing by a family member at6:35 p.m. Tuesday. The family of the Logan girl told police she didn't make it to school Tuesday morning. Officers had the family fill out a runaway juvenile form, according to police records. Logan Assistant Police Chief Jeff Curtis said Friday that Vandenburg is assumed to be missing and endangered.Information about the case has been entered into the National Crime Information Center, or NCIC. The nationwide database connects law enforcement and the FBI.
A missing person poster distributed by the teen's family indicates Vandenburg is 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighs between 130 and 140 pounds and has dark hair with purple highlights. Curtis said the girl commonly wears flip flops.Reportedly Vandenburg is diabetic and requires special care.Curtis said detectives aren't certain where the girl is but suspect she may be heading to Spokane, Wash.Police advise people that if they see the girl outside of Cache County to contact local authorities first before contacting Logan police.Residents with information about Vandenburg's whereabouts are encouraged to call detectives at 716-9300.

Vandenberg was carrying a largesuitcase and backpack.Police met her on 300 North and walked with her to the policestation.The employee noted Vandenberg was dropped off in the parking lotby someone who drove away before she called police. Police say it'sunknown who the driver was.
