An area man is facing charges of felonious assault and child endangering after prosecutors say he shook his 2-month-old son. Darnell Redd, 27, of Euclid, shook his son on Aug. 10 because he wouldn’t stop crying, according to the Cuyahoga County prosecutor’s office. A few days later, while the family was visiting in Streetsboro, the baby stopped breathing. The child was taken to Robinson Memorial Hospital, then later to Akron Children’s Hospital. Prosecutors said the baby had suffered retinal hemorrhages. Emergency workers also found three fractures on the baby’s legs that were several weeks old, prosecutors said. Redd faces a total of 12 counts and is scheduled for arraignment on Oct. 1.
