HUDSON, N.H. -- The 15-year-old Hudson boy who was the subject of an intensive six-hour search last night by police and New Hampshire Fish and Game officers has been found.
Austin Prior, a freshman at Alvirne High School whose parents reported him missing since 5:30 p.m., Thursday, was found around 2 a.m. by a homeowner who heard Prior's call for help coming from high up a tall tree in woods near Saint Francis Place, about a half-mile from the Prior family's home, police confirmed.
Hudson police and firefighters assisted in rescuing Prior from "about 80 feet up" a tree, a neighbor reported.
"He's back with his parents," a police dispatcher told The Sun at 4 a.m. Friday.
The tree-rescue of Prior took a few hours, according to Hudson School Board member Laura Bisson, who received the good news that Austin was found in a Facebook message from a friend, Amy MacCallum Reese, a Saint Francis Place resident.
"His parents are here -- he is 80 feet, or so, up in a tree," Reese posted online early this morning. "(Austin) was heard by my neighbor yelling around midnight. Rescue has been working for few hours in the woods. It seems to still be awhile before they are able to bring him out.
"Thank God for our fire, police and rescue people in Hudson," Reese added. "They do such an amazing jobs. Thank God he was found!"
The boy's discovery and rescue made for a happy ending to what had been a very stressful night for the Prior family and Austin's

friends, including his Alvirne freshman-football teammates who kept a vigil at his house on Empire Circle during the search.
Earlier last night, a team of Hudson police and state Fish and Game officers, and police K9 units searched for Prior in a heavily wooded square-mile area, while the Hudson School District activated its blanket phone-call emergency-alert system to notify parents and students of Prior's "missing" status, asking anyone with information to contact police.
"We're going at it hard, and we'll keep searching until we find him," Hudson police Capt. Bill Avery told The Sun at 10 p.m..
About four hours later, the boy was found.
In a press release issued by the Hudson police this morning, Prior was referred to as a "runaway" who was found and returned to his parents at about 2 a.m.
