Another 15 year old child who became a mother. It makes me wonder if she didn't become pregnant again and this 'father' wasn't happy about it. Just basing my thoughts on other cases where that has been the case. I hope not, I hope she will be found alive and well.

Investigators unleashed search dogs Friday and representatives from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children continued to look, but no one was able to find missing 17-year-old Paige Johnson.
"They are looking for Paige around the clock," Kenton Commonwealth's Attorney Rob Sanders said. "Detectives have crisscrossed Northern Kentucky and Southern Ohio."Patrol officers have canvassed Covington's East Side neighborhood where Johnson was last seen Sept. 23. Sanders said his office has issued numerous subpoenas for records. Family members have hung hundreds of missing person posters and appeared on the cable television show "Nancy Grace" Wednesday appealing for the public's help.Johnson's mother, Donna Johnson, has not heard from the 17-year-old mother since a male acquaintance dropped her off at about 1 a.m. at 15th and Scott streets to visit a friend.She never made it to that friend's house."There has been no arrests in the case," Covington police Capt. Teal Nally said. "We can't confirm a crime has been committed, but we certainly are worried for her safety."Donna Johnson said it was out of her daughter's character to disappear. Johnson has a 2-year-old daughter she regularly visits on the weekend. The daughter's father and his family have custody of the child, Nally said, adding that the child's father isn't thought to have been involved in the disappearance.Johnson also hasn't logged on to various social networking sites she regularly visited. She left her mother's home with no mobile phone and no credit cards. People have reported seeing a teen matching Johnson's description in Cincinnati, Hamilton and Newport but all the reports have turned out to be unfounded."The case has generated a good amount of publicity, but, so far, there is no credible evidence that Paige has been sighted," Sanders said. "We still hold out hope that she will be found alive but the fact that prosecutors are involved is obviously not a good sign."Covington police Lt. Col. Spike Jones said the city gets about 100 children reported missing a year but almost all are located. He said is it is unusual to have a teen missing for this amount of time."We are just very hopeful that Paige is aware we are looking for her and she will reach out and contact us, or contact her family, and let us know she is OK," Jones said. "Until that point, we will continue to look for her."He said investigators brought search dogs to a home Johnson might have visited in Taylor Mill but did not find her.Robert Lowery of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Alexandria, Va. said representatives are in Covington to provide any assistance investigators need. 17-Year-Old Paige Johnson Remains Missing

A Northern Kentucky family is expanding the search for a missing loved one. 17-year-old Paige Johnson of Florence disappeared on September 23rd, but her family is holding out hope they will find her. But Covington Police say some sources of information are drying up.

Paige Johnson was reportedly last seen at 15th and Scott in Covington... dropped off by a friend. Now that friend and Paige Johnson's boyfriend have hired attorneys and are being as helpful as they were at first. Every street corner in Covington seems to have a flier asking for help finding Paige Johnson. They're starting to pop up all over... even in Cincinnati.

Donna Johnson, Paige Johnson's Mother: "We put them in Florence, Newport, Ludlow, we're even going to put some in Walton. We're trying to put them anywhere they might have seen her."

Johnson has been missing 18 days. The fliers have given police some tips, but nothing specific about her whereabouts.

Lt. Col. Spike Jones, Covington Police: "DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU'RE GETTING FULL COOPERATION FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT'S GONE ON WITH HER? Well we have received a lot of cooperation from some folks. As you know one individual has obtained and attorney...did obtain an attorney."

That was the last person known to have seen Paige Johnson, reportedly here at 15th and Scott in Covington.

"That's supposedly. We don't even know if she made it to 15th and Scott. That's just the friend who gave her a ride and said he dropped her off. But we don't know."

Jenny Roderick, Paige Johnson's Grandmother: "We don't know they're getting lawyers. We don't understand why they're getting lawyers. {DONNA} We're kind of curious ourselves why they did get lawyers. That scares us, too. We don't know."

Police are still handling this as a missing persons case. There is no criminal investigation.

"We're very confident we'll locate Paige."

Paige Johnson has a two-year-old daughter. The baby is with the father's family. Police say he is not suspected of any involvement with her disappearance.

Paige Johnson is 5'1'' tall....110 pounds with light brown hair with highlights. She has pierced ears... and a pierced tongue and navel.

Family-friends and even strangers are using Facebook to help find Paige Johnson. Dozens of people have posted the flier about the missing girl on their pages and there is a group now dedicated to finding Paige.

COVINGTON, Ky. - Everyone involved in the Paige Johnson case is on Facebook … everyone except the missing teen herself. And police said that could be cause for concern. While the police still have no concrete leads about what happened to the 17-year-old who disappeared nearly three weeks ago, they continue to search for her around the clock. The search has even extended to a check of her social habits on the Internet and that's where police have come up cold -- no e-mails sent; no Facebook status updates; no MySpace chats or messages. Police consider the teenager’s lack of social network activity as a possible concern. Family, friends and the community have been all about social networking in the search for the missing teen. They are using Facebook to reach out to friends across the country—posting information and flyers about Johnson’s disappearance to their online pages, as well as starting the group, “ Keep Paige Johnson In Our Prayers. We Will Find Her <3 .” Johnson, who lives in Florence with her mother Donna Johnson, has been missing since Sept. 23, and has not accessed any of her social networks since she disappeared. Covington Police Capt. Teal Nally said Johnson has not e-mailed, called or texted any of her family or friends since she was last seen in the area of 15th and Scott streets in Covington. She is normally active on the Internet so this is of concern to police. “We are investigating this like there could be foul play,” said Nally of the missing teenage mother. Paige’s 2-year-old daughter, McKenzie lives with her father and his family, who have custody of her, Nally said, and are not suspected of any wrongdoing. A male acquaintance told police that he dropped off Paige in the area of 15th and Scott streets near a friend's house at about 1 a.m. on Sept. 23. Police said that she did not make it to the friend’s house. The male who dropped her off has not given police any further information that could lead them to her, said Nally. At this time, the male, who was the last person to see her, does have legal representation. Johnson’s mother filed a missing-person report at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 23. Nally said that the police have conducted several searches of properties and residences since the investigation began. However, names of people, searches and interviews are not being released by the police while the investigation is ongoing. Nally said so far in the investigation authorities have been unable to confirm whether or not a crime has been committed. Authorities hope to find the missing girl in good health. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is also involved in the case. The organization sent two representatives to Covington to assist in the search as soon as the missing report was filed. They helped with the search as well as posted flyers across Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. They have since left, said Robert Lowery, executive director of the Missing Children’s Division. As the tips began coming in less and less frequently, Lowery said the organization recalled its representatives to the Alexandria, Va. office. However, a case manager assigned to Johnson's case is continuing to coordinate with the Johnson family and the Covington Police, assisting in any way possible, he said. As leads come in from their website and call center, Lowery said they coordinate those with the Covington Police. They also have a search and rescue team on staff to consult with the police. There is a “concern for her welfare” said Lowery, who said that at the beginning of the investigation and search, Johnson was thought to be a runaway. But now they are more concerned that she may have disappeared unwillingly. Covington Police Lt. Col. Spike Jones said the entire community is worried about her. “We’re staying optimistic. We’re hopeful that she sees the media coverage and will reach out to tell us or her family, letting us know that she’s OK.” He called it unusual that Johnson has been gone for so long and has not reached out. Local 12 has uncovered some startling new information about the disappearance of a 17-year-old Northern Kentucky girl. Court records fill in some gaps and identify the 22-year-old man that police have said was the last to see Paige Johnson alive. The records also raise some serious questions about his story that he dropped her off on a Covington street three weeks ago today. Local 12's Joe Webb has been following the story.

Yesterday we told you how this story has taken on a life of its own on Facebook. This morning a Channel 12 producer spotted Jacob Bumpass's name on a Facebook post, identifying him as the last person to see Paige Johnson. After some checking, we found out Bumpass has drawn a lot of attention from Covington Police who've got search warrants for his home, a car and his cell phone... all in efforts to find Johnson.

22-year-old Jacob Bumpass has been locked up in the Kenton County jail since October 4th for a parole violation. He was arrested after Covington Police showed up at his Latonia home to question him about Paige. According to an affidavit for a search warrant, they were told he was with her the night she disappeared and had given her alcohol. In the same affidavit, Detective Brian Frodge says Bumpass ran when police announced who they were but they caught him. He let them inside the home, where Frodge says he saw what he thought was dried blood on a sink and a latex glove. Bumpass refused to talk.

Police also got a search warrant for a car. According to the search warrants, police obtained Jacob Bumpass's cell phone records from Cincinnati Bell. They tracked the movement of his phone the morning Paige disappeared.

Bumpass says he dropped her off at 15th and Scott about 1 a.m. The cell phone records show he, or at least his phone, was somewhere else. The affidavit says at 1:03 that morning Bumpass' phone accessed or pinged a cell phone tower on Tanner's Lane in Florence, a few blocks from Johnson's home. At 1:32 it pinged from a tower in Wilder... the one closest to Bumpass' home. Just before 3 a.m., his phone pinged on a tower in Edgewood and at 4:13 a.m., it pinged on a tower on Filager Road in Batavia. Five minutes later there is a hit on a tower on Half-Acre Road near the entrance to East Fork Lake State Park. At 9:43 the phone was back near the Wilder tower. All on the night Paige Johnson was last seen with Jacob Bumpass.

Bumpass is not charged with anything related Johnson's disappearance. Police say they have not opened a criminal investigation but the search warrant affidavits speak for themselves.

We do not know what police found or if they have actually conducted the searches, yet. The affidavit for the house was dated October 4th. The one for the car was dated October 12th.

Bumpass is being held for violating his parole by having alcohol and weapons at his home and using marijuana. Covington Police did not return a call today. The prosecutor did not want to comment on Bumpass.

COVINGTON, Ky. - With Paige Johnson’s disappearance a sense of urgency and sadness comes over those closest to her, especially for a girl who looks at her like a little sister lost. If Greer Locatell could be doing anything with her best friend, she said she and Paige would be sitting around laughing right now, having a good time like they always did. Locatell said that since the girl who was always positive and always smiling has gone missing, “the sunshine has pretty much been ripped out of my life.” “She was like my baby sister,” said the University of Cincinnati student who met Johnson when she was 12 years old. Johnson, now 17, has been missing since the early morning hours of Sept. 23. Police, family and friends have searched for her and for any clues about her disappearance since then. Locatell, a 2010 Scott High School graduate, said that she met the missing teen through her friendship with the father of Johnson’s 2-year-old daughter. She said Johnson had plans for her life -- plans that included her daughter and a future for them both. Johnson would do anything for her daughter, said Locatell, whose home is in Taylor Mill, Ky. “They are so much alike, always full of life.” She was a good mother and was going to enroll in Gateway Community and Technical College, Locatell said. She was dedicated to making her life as wonderful as she could. “Paige was getting ready to start a life with Ronnie,” her boyfriend of a few years, she said. She said Johnson was a positive person, always smiling, laughing and ready for a good time, always enjoying life. Locatell said she has always worried about her like she was her own sister. Johnson, who lives in Florence with her mother Donna Johnson, has been missing since Sept. 23. Her friend grieves but is positive for her safe return. “It’s hard, but she has angels watching over her,” said Locatell. According to police, a male acquaintance said that he dropped Johnson off at 15th and Scott streets in Covington, Ky. near a friend's house at about 1 a.m. that morning. But she did not make it to the friend’s house. Paige’s mother filed a missing-person report later that evening when her daughter did return home. Covington Police Capt. Teal Nally, said that the police have conducted several searches of properties and residences since the investigation began. However, based on those searches, they can not confirm whether or not a crime has been committed. Crime or not, Paige’s friends are diligent in their hopes of her safe and speedy return. I would tell her how sorry I am for not being there every single day like I should have. I would tell her how much I love her. I would tell her I would give her the world just to have her come home.” And it’s her mission to find her. That’s how she will get through this, she said. The last words that Paige Johnson’s big sister would read from the missing teen would be: “GIRL. I need To Talk To You IMMEDIATELY!” To Brittany Haywood, that was just her sister being her sister. She said the Facebook message posted to her wall the night Johnson disappeared was something her sister would say casually like, “Hey, girl I need to talk…” That usually meant she had learned her boyfriend was cheating on her or she just was trying to find where big sis was. Instead it would be the last word she would receive from her sister, who has been missing since Sept. 23, when she reported the teen missing to Covington Police. The 20-year-old Haywood, who described her little sister as a sweet, outgoing girl, said the last time she spoke to Johnson on the phone was around midnight that night. She’s heard nothing since and that it isn’t like her sister not to call since they talk every day. “Something is wrong, something is not right. Something is going on. Either she is hiding out somewhere or something happened,” Haywood said. It was shortly after midnight on Sept. 23 – at 12:12 a.m. to be exact – when Johnson posted the message on her sister’s Facebook wall. That was the last time that the missing 17-year-old reached out to anyone on the social networking website. About 45 minutes after her 12:12 a.m. posting, Jacob Thomas Bumpass, the Taylor Mill man currently being held in jail on a parole violation, told police he dropped Johnson off in Covington at 15th and Scott streets. Police said Bumpass told them that was at about 1 a.m. He was the last person to have seen her, according to court documents. However, those same documents show that Bumpass' cell phone records show a different location at the time he said he was dropping Johnson off. At approximately 1:03 a.m. Sept. 23, Bumpass' phone pinged on cell phone tower near Tanner's Lane in Florence, Ky., say court documents. According to Det. Bryan Frodge in an affidavit in support of a search warrant returned in the investigation, Johnson lived on Cantebury in Florence, which would be served by the tower on Tanner's Lane. Cell phones ping off of cell phone towers as they constantly search for signal whether or not the phone is in use.



Facebook chatter reveals that the Bumpass, Johnson and Haywood had tentative plans to meet up on the evening of Sept. 22. It also indicates that they had first planned to get together the night before. On Sept. 21 Johnson chatted with Bumpass on Facebook. Just after 2 a.m. she posted on his wall to come and get her, her sister and her friend to “party ASAP!” He declined because, as he posted, he had a job interview the following morning and needed to get some sleep. Haywood continued the chat, asking Bumpass if he was going to “chill with us tomorrow?” Bumpass’ post: “I’ll make an openin[g] for you!” She did not “chill” with him the night Johnson disappeared, Haywood said. Haywood said as far as she knew Johnson was hanging out with Bumpass on the evening of Sept. 22 and into the early-morning hours of Sept. 23 at his house. According to the affidavit for a search warrant, Bumpass, 22, gave Johnson alcohol that night. Court documents said Bumpass’ phone next pinged at 1:32 a.m. on Sept. 23 near Wilder, Ky., which police say is near Bumpass’ residence on Decoursey Pike. About an hour and a half later, it pinged at 2:58 a.m. off a tower near Dudley Pike in Edgewood, Ky. and at 4:13 a.m. off a tower near Filager Road in Batavia, Ohio. At 4:18 a.m. Bumpass' phone pinged off a tower near Half-Acre Road in Batavia which is near the entrance to East Fork Lake, an Ohio State Park in Clermont County. Later in the evening on Sept. 23, Bumpass posted to his Facebook two pleas to his ‘friends’ about Johnson’s disappearance. “If anyone has seen Paige Johnson please let me kno[w] if you have seen her she is missing and if you look in my photos you will see what she looks like. Her friends and family really need to find her and no ones heard from her,” Bumpass’ post at 7:05 p.m. read. “OK really if anyone has seen Paige Johnson please let me know because the cops are looking for her now. If anyone has any information on where she would be at message me,” Bumpass posted at 8:22 p.m. Johnson and Bumpass also used the social networking site MySpace. There she and Bumpass shared an online friendship. Bumpass has photos posted on his page of the missing teenager posing with him, as well as with other friends. Police say Johnson has been inactive online, including e-mail, Facebook and MySpace, since her disappearance. However, one website shows that someone has logged on to her page since her disappearance. On MySpace, next to the profile photo is a time-stamp that shows the last time a person logged into the MySpace page. On Johnson’s page, it reads that the last log on was Oct. 2. Covington Police Capt. Teal Nally said that while the police are looking at Johnson’s social networks, like MySpace and Facebook, they are “reasonably sure that she did not log onto that page.” Anyone, family, friends, anyone who may have her password can log onto her page. Still, Johnson’s inactivity on the Internet is a concern to police since she is normally active. “We are investigating this like there could be foul play,” said Nally. Family, friends and the community, however, hold out hope for her safe return. They are using Facebook to reach out to their friends for information. Facebook users are posting information, photos and flyers to their pages about Johnson’s disappearance, including well wishes, warm thoughts and pleas to Johnson to come home, all on a group page dedicated to her disappearance called, “Keep Paige Johnson In Our Prayers. We Will Find Her <3”. Bumpass has been inactive on his Facebook and MySpace pages since he was taken into custody on Oct. 4 on a parole violation for having alcohol in his home. He is on parole for a theft conviction. Bumpass has not been charged with any crime in connection with Johnson's disappearance. He's being held at the Kenton County Jail. Family, Friends Search for Missing Girl




Friends and family members of Paige Johnson searched several locations in Northern Kentucky Saturday, looking for clues that might answer the question: What happened to the 17 year old Florence girl.

More than 30 people gathered Saturday morning on Decoursey Avenue in Covington before starting the search.

Among the places they combed were an area off Locust Pike in Taylor Mill, near the Licking River and in Covington, around 47th and Decoursey, near Banklick Creek.
They also looked in a scrapyard near the railroad bridge that crosses the Licking River between Covington and Newport.

Johnson was last seen September 23rd. She was supposed to be dropped her off at 15th Street and Scott Street in Covington.
Nobody has heard anything from her since that day.

Jacob Bumpass, the last man to see Johnson, ran from police when they tried to question him. He's now locked up on an unrelated charge and is refusing to talk.
Investigators are taking a close look at his travels the night she disappeared.

The night she vanished, Johnson was wearing a multicolored jacket and blue jeans. She is about 5'1" and weighs about 110 pounds.

The search for a missing Florence teenager is going cold.Paige Johnson has been missing for weeks, but her family said they're not giving up hope yet.Family and friends continued the search on Saturday at East Fork State Park.Several people from the community gathered at Holmes High School before heading out to help in the effort."We want to do everything we can to find Paige. That's what means the most to us," Johnson's cousin, Amanda Johnson, said.The 17-year-old disappeared on Sept. 23. Police said Jacob Bumpass was the last person to see Johnson before she disappeared.Bumpass has been arrested on unrelated charges and police have not named him as a suspect in the case.However, detectives said they found what appeared to be human blood on clothing and other items found in his home.On Saturday, people focused their search at the park because they said Bumpass' cell phone showed he was there hours after he said he dropped off Johnson."He said that he dropped her off in Covington and it never pinged off any Covington towers. It was here at some crazy hour of the morning and there's no reason -- there's no need for that. It's suspicious so that's why we're here," Johnson's sister, Brittany Haywood, said. "We're going to walk around, go back in the trails, go through the woods, look everywhere, look under stuff, look through stuff, look everywhere."For some in the search party, it was their second day in a row of searching the park. However, they said they still haven't found any leads as to her whereabouts.

The search will continue on Monday for 17-year-old Paige Johnson of Florence, who has been missing for almost one month.

Members of the Covington police SWAT team and other law enforcement may again go to East Fork Lake State Park in Batavia to continue search for any sign of the missing teenager. That's where court documents show that area was where Jacob Bumpass, the man last seen with Paige Johnson, was in during the hours after he picked her up from her Florence home.

Bumpass is in the Kenton County Jail in Covington on a probation violation. Prior to Johnson's disappearance, Bumpass posted a picture of himself and Paige on his MySpace page.

Police say Bumpass told them he dropped Johnson off at 15th Street and Scott Blvd. in Covington on Sept. 22, the last time Johnson was seen.

Bumpass has not been charged in connection with Johnson's disappearance.

A coordinated search for missing 17-year-old Paige Johnson of Florence will begin Wednesday at East Fork State Park in Clermont County.

Fifty to 80 people, along with dogs, will search the 10,000-acre state park for the mother of a 2-year-old girl. She went missing on Sept. 23 with no credit cards and no mobile phone.The searchers will include Clermont County sheriff’s deputies, Covington police officers, area firefighters and search and rescue personnel from the region.“Tomorrow we have gathered resources from the region who will be joining together to search areas of East Fork State Park,” Covington police Lt. Col. Spike Jones said. “We have had overwhelming response from area professionals wanting to assist us in this endeavor. Most of all we have had great cooperation for the Clermont County Sheriff.”

Investigators have focused on the park because the mobile phone of the last person seen with Paige accessed cell towers in the area the morning she disappeared.

Parts of Harsha Lake, which is up to 100 feet deep in some areas and covers 2,160 acres, were searched over the weekend. 17-year-old Paige Johnson of Covington has been missing since September 23rd and now her family members fear the worst. "We won't stop till she comes home;" her aunt, Joann Rosas of Lexington, said through tears.As crews focus their efforts on searching the 10,000 acre East Fork Park in Ohio, family members say they know who is responsible for 17-year old Paige Johnson's disappearance. They say her boyfriend, Jacob Bumpass, was the the last person to see her alive. "All I can think about is her last thoughts.... Where is my family? Why aren't they here to save me?" Rosas said. Investigators were led to the park after Bumpass told them he dropped the teen mom off at her sister's apartment at 4 in the morning on September 23rd. But his cell phone records put him in the park near a lake investigators plan to comb on Wednesday. "Why? It was so useless to take her life," Rosas said while sobbing.
"I don't want to look at him if he's guilty.... I don't want to look at the face of evil.... To think that was the last face she saw." The case has even garnered national attention; it was featured on Tuesday night's edition of Nancy Grace on CNN. Rosas says she hopes the exposure will prompt someone to come forward with new information. Rosas says her niece was trying to get her GED, to make a better life for herself and her 2-yr-old daughter, Daisy. While family members think she's gone, they still hold on to a little hope she could be found alive. "Paige, we love you. We're praying for you that you come home safely. If you don't, you're in the arms of god.' Bumpass is in jail after an arrest for a parole violation. Investigators have not named him as a suspect in the case.

COVINGTON, Ky. - The disappearance of 17-year-old Paige Johnson of Florence is expected to hit national airwaves Tuesday night.

CNN's Nancy Grace has scheduled a segment to air on HLN formerly Headline News channel about Johnson live at 8 p.m. and rebroadcast at 10 p.m.

Covington Captain Teal Nally and KyPost.com reporter Jessica Noll are some of the guests.

A large-scale search is scheduled to take place first thing Wednesday morning.

Covington police said Tuesday afternoon that the search involving multiple agencies will begin at East Fork State Park in Batavia.
Fifty to 70 police and fire crews from multiple agencies will begin a ground search at daybreak.
"We're asking for people at this point to stay out of the area, cooperate with us, and let the specially trained search and rescue people do their job without interference," said Lt. Col. Spike Jones of Covington police.

The reason the search is focusing on the Clermont County park is because cell phone records show the man last seen with Johnson was in that area the night she disappeared.

Court records state 22-year-old Jacob Bumpass of Taylor Mill is the last man to see Johnson after she disappeared on September 23.
Paige was supposed to be dropped off at her sisters house around 1 a.m.

The teen, who is a mother to a 2-year-old daughter, never made it to her sister's home.

Police said Bumpass told them he dropped off Johnson at 15th Street and Scott Boulevard, but search warrants filed by Covington police indicate otherwise.

An affidavit states Bumpass admitted to being with Johnson the night of Sept. 22 and gave her alcohol.

Officers later searched his Taylor Mill Home On Decoursey Pike to find what appeared to be blood and latex gloves in the kitchen sink, according to the affidavit.

Cell phone records belonging to Bumpass show he was near Johnson's home at 1 a.m. and several hours later at East Fork State Park in Batavia.
