SIERRA AMBER NICOLE HOLLEY - 6 yo - Cincinnati OH
Police are searching for a six year old girl who was taken from North College Hill Elementary this morning by her biological mother, who does not have custody.
Police say Sierra Amber Nicole Holley, a first grader, was dropped off at the school on Grace Avenue just before 9 a.m. by her stepfather, who has custody of her. Sierra, who is mildly autistic, made it into class. But police say her mother, who does not have custody, went into the classroom and gave a fake story about needing to remove the girl from class. The teacher allowed the girl to leave with her mother.
Police issued an Amber Alert just after noon today. They hesitated because they do not believe Sierra is in any danger and this is an ongoing custody issue. Officers believe Sierra and her mother are headed to Alabama, but they do not have a description of the vehicle in which the two were riding.
Sierra was last seen wearing a navy blue skirt and light blue shirt with cream colored leggings with purple and blue hearts and a white nylon vest with brown fur trim on the hood. The girls mother, Angela D. Holley, is in her 30's, is very thin, and was wearing reddish-orange colored wig and a grey and tan jacket.
There is security video inside the school and police are hoping to get an image of the mother to release to the public soon.
Meanwhile, if you see Sierra, call 911.

Police are searching for a girl taken from a North College Hill school Monday morning.Police say the child was taken from North College Hill Elementary on Grace Avenue just before 9 a.m.Dispatchers said a black woman in a red wig took Sierra Amber Nicole Holley, 6, from the school without permission as students milled around before school started. Police said the girl's teacher saw the woman leaving with the girl and tried to stop her.By Monday evening, police said an Amber Alert that was issued earlier in the day had been canceled. Officers said Holley had not been found but that they believe she was no longer in the area. Police said they believe Sierra's mother came from Alabama and took her. The girl's stepfather has had custody for the past five years, police said.Officers said they think the mother, Angela D. Holley, is on her way back to Alabama with the girl, who is autistic.Sierra Holley was last seen wearing a navy blue skirt, light blue shirt and cream-colored leggings with purple and blue hearts. She was also wearing a white vest with a brown-fur-trimmed hood.Police said this is not the first time Holley has taken her daughter."The child was taken by the mother some previous time to them living here in North College Hill, but the father retrieved the child and then moved back here," Sgt. John Ferguson said.School officials said security cameras were rolling as the incident happened.Parents are questioning how someone could just walk into a school and leave with a child."I understand it was Monday morning and everybody was trying to get it together, but that was careless -- just too careless," parent Gina Simpson said."The school is on lockdown configuration; however, when you've got all the kids and parents arriving in the morning, it is possible someone could have slipped in or out," Ferguson said. The superintendent said security procedures are in place."It is too early to know the details of how it happened, but obviously, we're going to have to look at our arrival and dismissal procedures," Gary Gellert said.Alabama police have been alerted, authorities said.Anyone with information on Sierra Holley's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or North College Hill police at 513-521-7171.

The Amber Alert that police issued after a 6-year-old girl was abducted by her mother from a North College Hill school on Monday is still in effect Tuesday morning. Police say 6-year-old Sierra Amber Nicole Holley was taken from her classroom at North College Hill Elementary on Grace Avenue shortly before 9 a.m. "[She] told them she was the child's mother," says North College Hill Police Sgt. John Ferguson. "Under the pretense that she needed to take the child to the office to speak to the child's father. She was able to get the child out of the classroom, and walk to the office area and then out the door." The little girl's mother, Angela D. Holley, does not have custody of her daughter. School officials say it is common for parents coming into the building to not check in or wear name tags when school is beginning. Sierra Holley is described as black, last seen wearing a navy blue skirt and light blue shirt, cream-colored leggings with purple and blue hearts and a white nylon vest with brown fur trim around the hood. Angela Holley is described as black, in her 30s, very thin, 5'6," reddish/orange shoulder length hair (possibly a wig), wearing a gray and tan jacket. Police believe the two may be headed to Alabama in an unknown type of vehicle. "We don't believe the child's in any danger at all," says Ferguson. "We get that information from the custodial parent, the stepfather. He says... the mother is upset that he's had custody of the child for several years and she's unable to get custody, and she's come up to just take the child through non-legal means." Anyone with information is asked to call the North College Hill Police Department at (513)521-7171.

UPDATED: 7:16 pm EDT October 5, 2010
NORTH COLLEGE HILL, Ohio -- Police have found a missing 6-year-old girl safe in Alabama.
Investigators said Sierra Holley was abducted Monday morning by her mother, who does not have custodial rights, at North College Hill Elementary School.
Police said Angela Holley called police on Tuesday morning to say that she had her daughter. Authorities in Alabama were notified and took Sierra into protective custody. She will be returned to her father.
Police said Angela Holley took her daughter, who is autistic, from the school without permission and did not comply with a teacher's order to stop.
A security camera showed Holley, wearing a red wig, leave the school with her daughter.
Police said she will face charges for taking her daughter.
Authorities said this was not the first time Holley, who lives in Alabama, had taken her daughter without permission.
The girl's stepfather has had custody of Sierra for about five years, police said.
Police requested that an Amber Alert be issued, but the state of Ohio denied the request.
School officials said they would investigate safety procedures to determine how Holley was able to take her daughter from school without permission.

---No, I would leave her here in FOUND until such time as charges are filed. If we hopscotch the stories too much, people will lose track of those that they are following.oviedo45 wrote:so is she unresolved until charges are filed? so happy she is safe, but good lord, the school needs some rules?
