MARIA LUCY SUSTAITA-RUBIO - 15 yo - Tidehaven (W of Bay City) TX

A 15-year-old Tidehaven High School student Maria Lucy Sustaita-Rubio is still missing after she was reported by her parents to Matagorda County Sheriff's Office as a runaway about 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7.

The teen's father told officers that she was last seen after being dropped off at school Wednesday morning, Oct. 6.

Sgt. Doug Pruitt said she never went into school, instead the girl went back to her home while no one would be there, packed up some clothes and left "without informing anyone of her location or intentions."

The teen has been known to abscond in the past, so her father spent a day contacting friends and searching in places she ran away to before, according to the sheriff's office report.

While she hasn't been found, the girl did contact her brother to let him know she was not harmed and that she didn't want to return home.

"We know that she definitely intended to run away," said Pruitt.

"We're still trying to narrow down where she may be."

Lucy was last seen wearing a pink shirt, blue jeans and sneakers.
