Father arrested in missing teen case

Courier Staff Report

The father of two Jefferson County teenagers who were missing for several days this month was arrested Wednesday night on a warrant for a family offense.

The Madison Police Department arrested Charles Semon Jr. of Madison at 11:34 p.m.

Indiana State Police said earlier this month that Semon, the teens' biological father, failed to return them to state care after an unsupervised visit. The children, 15-year-old Kristen Semon and 14-year-old Charles "Chuck" Semon III, were reported missing May 9. The state police announced May 13 that the teens had been found in Tennessee at the home of a former relative.
