A Porterville man has been arrested for killing his 3-month-old son.   25-year-old Joseph Ulloa was arrested Tuesday night after a lengthy interview with police.  Porterville Police Officers say Ulloa lived with his baby in an apartment complex in east Porterville.  Last month, Ulloa called 9-1-1 saying the infant wasn't breathing. The baby was eventually transported to Children's Hospital of Central California in Fresno County. He remained there on life support for three weeks before he died.  Sgt. Jake Castellow said, "The first responding officers and the initial medical personnel there was no visible injuries to the child and it was later determined thru the hospital staff and the autopsy that it was internal head injuries."  Ulloa is expected to be arraigned on murder charges by Friday.

A Porterville father has been arrested in connection with the death of his 3-month-old son, who was found last month inside his home suffering from head injuries.
Police arrested Joseph Ulloa, 25, Tuesday in Porterville after an interview led authorities to believe the injuries were not accidental, Porterville Sgt. Jake Castellow said.The infant died Oct. 14, after being on life support the previous three weeks.An autopsy last week deemed the death non-accidental, officials said, though they did not release an exact cause.Ulloa was initially interviewed Sept. 23 at his home in the 300 block of East Eastridge Court. He was called to the station Tuesday and was arrested after being questioned further by detectives."We feel confident enough to send this case to the district attorney's office for homicide charges," Castellow said. "The investigation is still ongoing and we are looking for as much information as we can."Police officers and medical personnel were called to the infant's home Sept. 23 and found the 3-month-old not breathing. Medical personnel conducted multiple tests and concluded that injuries to the infant's head were the cause for him not breathing.The 3-month-old was taken to Sierra View Hospital in Porterville and later transferred to Children's Hospital Central California.Porterville police have not provided information on the child's mother or if she may face charges stemming from the supposed abuse.Ulloa is expected to be arraigned at 1 p.m. Friday at the Tulare County pretrial facility. Porterville police have 48 hours from Tuesday afternoon to submit paperwork to the Tulare County District Attorney's office. Ulloa can be released Friday afternoon if paperwork is not submitted.Ulloa is currently being held on $1 million bail.
