9-month-old baby's death ruled homicide

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -  On Sunday, officers responded to a home on Evans Dr. after a baby was found dead.

The baby has been identified as 9-month-old Corey Kees.

An autopsy on the baby was done on Monday and his death was ruled a homicide.

He sustained several injuries which included a skull fracture which was consistent with blunt force trauma.

Detectives are questioning several people at this time.

Suspect in Killing of 9 Month Old in Custody

JANUARY 7, 2015 - On Sunday, January 4, 2015, Precinct 1 officers responded to 105 Evans Dr. regarding a deceased infant. During the preliminary investigation the infant was identified as Cory Kees, 9 months old. The incident was ruled a death investigation pending further examination. 

On Monday, January 5, 2015, an autopsy was conducted at the MS State Crime Lab. Upon conclusion of the autopsy the manner of death was ruled a Homicide. The infant sustained several injuries which included a skull fracture which was consistent with blunt force trauma. 

Robbery/Homicide Detectives conducted the follow-up investigation and the father of the infant, Jerry Michael Alexander Kees was developed as a suspect. He is in custody and has been charged with Capital Murder. The investigation is still ongoing and more charges are possible.

This is so sad. This happened right next door to where my father lives. The baby was taken away at 5 months old when either his leg or arm was broken, someone posted that the child had a bone disease and that's how the bone was broken. Sure makes you question that now. The dad has fathered 3 babies from 3 different women in the past year. This case just makes me SICK!!!!
