Erwin, N.C. — Erwin police are searching for a missing father and his two children. The case was first reported as a parental abduction Tuesday, but was later changed to a missing persons case.
Susan Boggs told police she took her 7-year-old fraternal twins – Alyssa Ann Allen and Alex James Allen – to visit their father, Alvin Allen, on Sunday afternoon, with the understanding that he would return them three hours later.
Boggs called police Monday after the children were not returned. She said she made multiple attempts to call their father, only to learn his phone service had been disconnected. He also cleaned out his house and took a leave of absence from his job, she said.
The case does not qualify for an Amber Alert, police said, because Boggs allowed the children to go with Allen.
Both children suffer from asthma and are without their medications, according to Boggs, who said Allen does not know about the children's medical condition or how to treat them.
Allen and the children might be traveling in a gold 2000 Chevy Tahoe with N.C. license plate XZC-7746 or ZWS-5529. Their direction of travel and possible destination are unknown. However, Boggs says Allen is originally from New York and still has ties there.
"I want him to bring my babies back, just bring them back safe and not harmed," she said.
Allen has a history of domestic violence, according to court records.
Since the time they disappeared, an emergency ex-parte and child custody order has been issued by the courts, according to police. Prior to their disappearance, there was no custody order or agreement in place.
Anyone with information should call the Harnett County Communications Center at 910-893-9111.

ERWIN (WTVD) -- A mother in Erwin is getting some extra help in the search for her missing 7-year-old twins.
The The National Center for Missing And Exploited Children website has now posted pictures of Alyssa and Alex Allen.
Their father's photo is also included.
The kids were last seen with Alvin Allen by clerks at Roses in Cary's South Hills Mall
Their mother, Susan Boggs, says she dropped her twins off last Sunday to visit with him, but they have never returned.
"Getting out the word as much as possible. If anybody's seen them, please call report that you've seen them because you know were going on a week now that they've been without their medication too. That's what's starting to worry me a little bit," said Boggs.
Boggs says both of her twins have breathing conditions that require medicine their father doesn't have.
She believes Allen took her children to avoid having to pay child support. They were due in court for a hearing on the matter this month.
If you have any information, you're asked to contact Erwin police or call the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678 (1-800-THE-LOST)
