Hundreds of friends and family members are still desperately hoping for answers in the killing of Pearland teen Arrijana Hill, who was found murdered in her family's home a full week ago.

A Pearland Police Department spokesperson told CutlureMap on Friday that there is still no new information being released with the case.

Police have revealed few details about the murder of 16-year-old Hill. They only say that she was found inside her parent's home in a gated community on East Cedar Hollow Drive, apparently stabbed to death according to the medical examiner.

With so much mystery surrounding her death, friends and family found strength together through a prayer vigil held at the Cross Roads Community Church, holding hands and lighting candles in the memory of the fallen teen, earlier this week. At the end of the vigil, 300 balloons — in Hill's favorite color — were released into the sky.

Classmates from Pearland's Glenda Dawson High School were in attendance, many in disbelief about what had happened to their friend.

"Arrijana was a great person, a great classmate and a great teammate," her friend Richard Smith told KHOU Channel 11.

Friends said the teen was liked by all, and Hill was a member of both the track and volleyball teams.

"We don't have any answers," parent Akima Taylor told KHOU. "The biggest question is why. I can't make up any answers."

A wake for Hill has been scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. at Cross Roads Community Church. The funeral service will also take place in the church on Saturday at 2 p.m.

PEARLAND, Texas – The friend of a 16-year-old girl who was found stabbed to death inside her Pearland home in March was arrested at his high school Tuesday and charged with capital murder, according to Pearland Police.

The teen boy was taken into custody at noon at Pasadena Memorial High School and transported to the Brazoria County Juvenile Detention Center. His identity has not been released because he was a juvenile at the time of the crime.

The boy is accused of killing Arrijana Hill, who was a student at Dawson High School. Arrijana’s mother arrived to their home in an upscale gated community one Friday afternoon to find her daughter dead. The Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office determined Arrijana had been strangled and stabbed. The death of the girl, who was described as “sweet” by others, left the community shocked.

During the course of the investigation, it was learned that Arrijana was pregnant with twins when she died. DNA analysis determined that the suspect, who also attended Dawson High School at the time Arrijana was brutally murdered, was the father of the unborn babies.

The case will be prosecuted by the Brazoria County District Attorney’s Office.

Pearland, TX - There are new developments in the case of a teenage girl found dead in a Pearland home two months ago.

Police say a male suspect has been arrested and charged with capital murder in the death of Arrijana Hill.

Hill, 16, was found dead March 21 inside a home in the 3200 block of East Cedar Hollow Drive.

According to Pearland police, Hill was pregnant with twins at the time of her death and a paternity analysis determined the suspect was the father.

"They were looking at this suspect from the beginning. Had to get some lab results back to build a strong case," said Lt. Patrick Savage, with the Pearland Police Department.

The suspect, now 17 years old, was an acquaintance of the victim and attended Dawson High School with her. They say he was 16 at the time of the crime.

He was arrested around noon Tuesday at Pasadena Memorial High School and transported to the Brazoria County Juvenile Detention Center.

A Pasadena ISD spokesperson said the teen was transferred to the district on March 27, less than a week after Arrijana was killed. The Galveston County Medical Examiner's Office listed the preliminary cause of Hill's death as manual strangulation and stab wounds.

"Because more than one person was killed, charges were enhanced to capital murder," said Lt. Savage.

The suspect is being treated as a juvenile for now.

"Today was definitely helpful in the starting more of the healing process and a little more closure for us and my family," said Opal Hill, Arrijana's mother. “My daughter had a delightful spirit -- always smiling, always happy, so I continue to remember her as that person who was always happy and always in a good mood and smiling about something.”

Few people reportedly knew Hill was pregnant — but the revelation helped lead police to the boy suspect, who officials say was the father of the unborn children.


A Texas teen is accused of stabbing to death a 16-year-old classmate who was pregnant with his twin babies, police said.
But the shocking arrest, at the boy’s Pasadena, Tex. high school, did not happen until two months after the brutal murder, around noon Tuesday, after authorities linked the teen’s DNA to his dead, unborn children.

The juvenile suspect attended Dawson High School with Hill before transferring to Pasadena Memorial High School less than a week after the alleged killing of the girl and their unborn children.

KPRC Distraught classmates remember Hill, who was pregnant with twins at the time of her murder.


Few people knew the smiling girl, the manager of the Dawson High School track team, was an expectant mother, according to KPRC-TV.

A vigil celebrated the life of Hill after she was found dead in March.

Six days after the brutal murder, her alleged killer and the father of her unborn children, then still 16, transferred to Pasadena Memorial High School, some 20 miles away in a south Houston suburb.

Now 17, the suspect has been charged with capital murder because his alleged victim was pregnant at the time of the heartless attack, police told the news station. He is currently charged as a juvenile but could be headed to adult court.

"They were looking at this suspect from the beginning. Had to get some lab results back to build a strong case," Lt. Patrick Savage of the Pearland Police Department told the news station.

The teen murder suspect remains locked up at the Brazoria County Juvenile Detention Facility.
