HUNTER JAMES STEPHENS - 2 yo - Bastrop/Houston TX

On November 24, 2010 at approximately 5:05pm, Bastrop County Dispatch received a 911 call of a suicide and possible missing child at 217 Pine Tree Loop in Bastrop, Texas. Bastrop County Deputies and Investigators arrived on scene to find a deceased adult male subject with a gunshot wound. After a brief search a 2 year old child was found deceased also with a gunshot wound. On November 25, 2010, an autopsy was performed by the Travis County Medical Examiner who made a preliminary determination of suicide for the adult male and homicide for the child.The deceased was identified as:Jason Ackley W/M DOB: 6/30/1970
and Hunter James Stephens W/M DOB: 2/19/2008
Mr. Ackley is the step-father to Hunter. The Ackley family was in town visiting family for the holidays.
They are from the Houston, Texas area.
This case is under investigation.
