"Infant Jane Doe" -17 Months - Odessa TX

A 17-month-old girl is in critical condition after being found face down in bathtub while bathing, an Odessa police news release said.

Odessa police responded to a medical call at 4:30 p.m. Monday to 2513 Halifax Ave. Odessa Fire Department medics said a 17-month-old girl was found face down in the bathtub, the release said. The child was transported to Medical Center Hospital where she remains in critical condition, according to a hospital representative.

The release said the father of the child reported to police that he was bathing his child along with another small child. He stepped away to assist an elderly family member and when he returned he found the 17-month-old facedown in the tub, the release said.
