Nelson may be connected to other missing children cases in the Houston area.
Mona Yvette Nelson, 44, has been charged in the murder of Jonathan
Foster, 12, whose burned body was found on the side of the road in Houston.

"Do I believe she's done it before? Yeah, I do. I don't think she began and ended with the abduction of Jonathan Foster, I don't," said Michael Miller of the Houston Police Dept.

Miller spoke at a news conference and he described Nelson as "soulless" and "lacking any remorse".

"I was one of the detectives to interview Mona Nelson, and I can tell you that she is a cold soulless murderer who showed an absolute lack of remorse in taking the life of Jonathan Foster."

It is believed that Nelson took Jonathan from his home that Friday afternoon to her apartment where she killed him then dumped his body. A video surveillance camera shows Nelson's truck at the location.

Miller said that Nelson admitted to dumping Jonathan's body in the drainage ditch, but says she did not kill him. She says a family member
gave her $20 to dump a plastic container on Christmas Eve, and she was drunk and didn't know what was inside the container. Nelson told a
local TV station, "I'm not a monster. I have five grandkids and I love kids."

Houston police are now re-opening cases of other missing children of years past.

My kids have used that expression. Taken right from hemorrhoids and that is how it applies, straight from the AH.

UPDATE -- Brothers Joe and Tony Marin turned themselves in to the Fort
Bend County Sheriff's Office this afternoon. They are being held in Fort
Bend County Jail. Joe Marin had his son with him. The boy was returned
safely and reunited with his mother. The fourth suspect, Fransisco
Marin, remains at large. Michael Marin turned himself in to authorities
Dec. 23.

What do we do with this thread now we know it was Jonathan and Jaiden is safe?

HPD asks to keep 911 tapes secret in case of 12-year-old's killing

The Houston Police Department is asking the Texas Attorney General's
office to keep recordings of 911 calls in the Jonathan Foster case,
secret.

According to Jeff Monk of HPD's Open Records division, the department
is exercising its right to have the recordings kept from the public
because they are a part of a pending criminal investigation.

"We do that on any case that is active," Monk said.

The burned remains of 12-year-old Jonathan Foster were found on Dec.
28, four days after the boy disappeared from his Garden Oaks home.

A 44-year-old maintenance worker, Mona Nelson, has been charged with
murder in Jonathan's death. She is a friend of Jonathan's mother's
roommate.

The Houston Chronicle, on Jan. 6, asked for copies of any recordings
of calls "for response" to the boy's home from Dec 1-25, 2010.

That request was forwarded on Jan. 21 to the Texas Attorney General's office for a ruling.

no news on this case in 2 months? wonder what's going on with this one... are they keeping details close to the vest because it was such a horrific crime? or is it that we're spoiled from the "sunshine law" of Florida and we get details in cases there? I sure hope this boy gets justice
