"Newborn" BLACKBURN Baby(8/2009) - Sapulpa OK

A Sapulpa woman charged with child abuse for allegedly abandoning her newborn baby appeared in court Wednesday.

Kristina Blackburn is accused of leaving her baby in a dumpster over
the Memorial Day weekend. The child was found and survived and is
reportedly doing well with a foster family.

Blackburn's attorney has asked for a mental evaluation for his client.

She is due back in court in October.

A Sapulpa woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after she was
accused of dumping her newborn son in a trash bin nearly three years
ago.
Kristina Blackburn pleaded no contest to felony child abuse. The Sapulpa Herald reports (

) that Blackburn was also sentenced to 25 years of probation and was ordered to have no contact with children.

Prosecutors accused Blackburn of placing the baby in a duffel bag, then
dumping him in a trash bin outside of a Disabled American Veterans
post. The DAV's director discovered the baby, who survived.

Authorities say the child is now in a "nurtured, loving family setting."
Blackburn testified that she had no recollection of giving birth or
dumping the baby but acknowledged that DNA identified her as the
child's mother.

Glad to see that this POS egg donor got a decent sentence. I just wish they would sterilize her so she couldn't do this to another baby in the future.
