"Toddler" John DeHUFF - 1 yo - Commerce MI

COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- A 25-year-old mother who is accused
of stabbing her 1-year-old son three times is in the custody of the
Oakland County Sheriff's Department.
The child was reportedly stabbed in the throat, upper torso and in the armpit at a home in Commerce Township.
Investigators
say the woman, her husband and the child were in the car when the woman
said she needed to run back into the house.
The woman took the
child with her into the house. After a few minutes, the husband became
concerned and went to check on them. That's when he reportedly
found his wife stabbing the child with a butcher knife.
The
1-year-old boy was taken to Huron-Valley Sinai hospital and was then
airlifted to the University of Michigan to undergo surgery. Action News
has learned the child is in stable condition and is in Pediatric
Intensive Care at University of Michigan hospital.
Investigators say the woman told them she had a bad dream that told her to stab her son.

Friday in Novi 52-1 District Court on assault with intent to murder
charges.Oakland
County Sheriff's investigators said Kristy Leigh DeHuff stabbed her son
three times shortly before noon Thursday in their home in the 3200
block of Brookneal.
DeHuff's husband took the knife away from her and
called 911. DeHuff is being held at the Oakland County Jail without bond
pending a Feb. 10 preliminary exam.According
to investigators, the child was rushed to Huron Valley Hospital and
then transferred via helicopter to University of Michigan Hospital
where he was treated for three stab wounds, including to the throat.

husband said the couple and their son were all in the car preparing to
leave that morning when she announced she had forgotten to do something
and went back inside with the boy. He followed a couple minutes later
and found her armed with a butcher knife, his son bleeding from wounds.During

by a "dream" and thoughts that someone intended to kill her son, so she
decided to do it first.
