Police Looking For Child After Alleged Parental Kidnapping

Police in two states are working to find a missing child, allegedly kidnapped by his own father.
On September 21st, Sparks Police was contacted by the Colorado Springs Police Department about a parental kidnapping. Authorities say the suspect, Anthony Mendoza, who is the father of the victim, took custody of 4-year old Caleb Mendoza in Colorado Springs and refused to return Caleb to his mother at the end of visitation.
After an investigation, the CSPD received a nationwide arrest warrant on Anthony Mendoza for kidnapping and then contacted Sparks Police to assist locating Caleb and arresting Anthony.
Sparks Detectives began their investigation and spoke with neighbors in the 2600 block of Wabash Circle, where Anthony's mother lives. They say many witnesses confirmed the father and son have been seen at the home recently. They say they haven't been able to contact anyone at the home.Then, on September 23rd, Anthony Mendoza was arrested in Colorado Springs on the kidnapping warrant. Authorities say Anthony refused to tell detectives where Caleb is. They say he was able to post bond and is no longer in custody.They say Anthony was then served with a restraining order, preventing him from having any contact with Caleb, who is still listed as missing and endangered. Police say he may still be in northern Nevada.Sparks Detectives say they are looking for a couple people who may have information on Caleb's whereabouts, including Anthony's mother, Deborah Lee Coyazo. She is driving a green 1999 Mitsubishi Diamante with the Nevada plate MX5108. Police are also looking for a Hispanic female who could be Anthony's girlfriend, "Melanie." SPARKS, NV - Sparks police are working with police from Colorado Springs to find a four-year-old boy. Colorado police say Caleb Mendoza was taken by his father, Anthony Mendoza, who does not have custody and didn't return Caleb to Caleb's mother, as was scheduled. Detectives in Colorado Springs determined that Anthony and Caleb were in Sparks at Anthony's mother's address in the 2600 block of Wabash Circle. Sparks police confirmed that both had been seen there, but weren't able to make contact.
Thursday, Anthony Mendoza was arrested on a kidnapping warrant after returning to Colorado Springs, but he's refusing to tell police where Caleb is.
Since his arrest he was able to post bond and is no longer in custody, and he's been served with a restraining order preventing him from having any contact with Caleb. Sparks police say Caleb is still listed as missing and endangered and may still be in the Reno/Sparks area, and that Anthony will attempt to contact Caleb. Sparks detectives are looking for some people who may have information as to Caleb's whereabouts: * Deborah Lee Coyazo (Anthony's mother) is driving a green 1999 Mitsubishi Diamante bearing NV plate MX5108.

Kidnapping Victim Located In Dixon, California

4-Year old Caleb Mendoza, whose been missing since Tuesday has reportedly been found in California Friday.Sparks Police received a call from the Dixon, California Police Department saying grandmother Deborah Coyazo walked into the department with Caleb. She admitted to Dixon Police she had Caleb in her custody when she talked Sparks Police earlier in the day who says she did not cooperate with the investigation.Police say Coyazo gave false information on what was going on with the case, to her knowledge. Dixon Police contacted Colorado Springs detectives to work out the custody arrangements of Caleb, along with possibly charging Coyazo.Dixon Police told Channel 2 Caleb was brought in unharmed.
