CASS COUNTY, Missouri - The Cass County Sheriff’s Office has issued an AMBER Alert for a child abduction.

Police say 2-year-old Syah D. Duffey was abducted in the 200 block of Broadway in East Lynne around 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Police were notified after 10 a.m.

According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect vehicle is a white unknown make older dirty van with an Iowa license.

The suspect is described as a heavy set white female in her 20s to 30s last seen wearing a gray sweater and blue jeans.

Syah's maternal grandmother says a woman forced Syah's mother to pack clothing for the little girl before taking her from the home. The woman reportedly identified herself as being with a child welfare agency.

Syah is described as 33 inches tall and 30 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Syah was last wearing a Mickey Mouse shirt and blue jeans.

If you see Syah, the suspect, or vehicle, you are asked to call 911 or the Cass County Sheriff’s Office at (816) 380-5200.

The Iowa State Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle carrying an abducted child from Missouri around 5:45 p.m. Thursday near Mitchellville, Iowa. The child, Syah Duffey, 2, is safe. Two people were with the child at the time. The Cass County Sheriff's Department will release more information as it is available.

Charge Filed Against Mother In Amber Alert Incident





EAST LYNNE, Mo. -- A Cass County woman has been charged with filing a false report that led to an Amber Alert.



Cass County Prosecutor Teresa Hensley charged Sharon Kay Duffey with a misdemeanor count of making a false report that resulted in an Amber Alert on Nov. 11 in East Lynn, Mo. The Amber Alert was made after Duffey's daughter, Syah D. Duffey, was taken by her father, James Guyer.



Syah and Guyer were found later that day near Mitchellville, Iowa.



The court set bond for Duffey at $2,500.
