Detroit Police are asking for the public's help in locating a 14-year-old. Charayne Johnson was last seen at her home on Canterbury near Outer Drive and 7 Mile Thursday night around 7:30 p.m.

Charayne
is 5' 5" and has brown eyes and brown hair. Charayne was wearing a
black coat, light blue shirt, tan pants and black & white checker

Detroit girl, 14, missing after argument with parents

Detroit — The mother of a 14-year-old Detroit girl, who was
last seen Thursday evening after storming out of her parents' house,
says she has no idea where to begin to look for her daughter. Charayne
Johnson, a Mumford High School freshman, made contact Friday on
Facebook with a family member her age, said her mother, Constance
Johnson, but today her whereabouts and safety are uncertain.

"These kids are just flipping out," Johnson said. "I feel confident
she was fine (Friday), but I don't know what's going on now. Who would
allow a little girl to stay overnight and not contact her parents?"

Charlayne returned home from school Thursday three hours late at
about 6:20 p.m., Johnson said, but refused to offer a reason. Instead,
she ran out of the family's home on the 19500 block of Canterbury to a
friend's house. The teen's father, Dwayne Johnson, arrived at the
friend's house to carry her home, but during the return trip, the two
argued about her independence and she jumped out of his vehicle in a
west-side neighborhood. The father and daughter argued as he got out
urging her to get in the car, which drew a small crowd and led to calls
to the police and her mother, who rushed to the scene in her vehicle. When the family reached their house, the girl ran away again and has not been seen since Thursday at about 7:30 p.m. Charayne
is African-American, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. She
has brown eyes and brown hair. She was wearing a black coat, light blue
shirt, tan pants and black-and-white checkered boots, according to
authorities.
