The New Orleans Police Department is asking for the public's help locating Maiah Sylvester, 12, who was reported missing Sunday evening from her Algiers home.New Orleans Police Department

Maiah Sylvester, 12, was reported missing by her mother Sunday night.

The girl was last seen by her mother, Ms. Jamie Mack, taking out the trash shortly after 6:00 p.m. at their home in the 4600 block of Berkley Drive,
according to a statement by Officer Shereese Harper. Her mother has not
heard from her since and says this behavior is uncharacteristic of her
daughter, according to Harper.
Maiah is described as an African-American female, 5'2", approximately
130 pounds, last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and
brown boots.

Missing Algiers teen returns home unharmed


A girl missing since Sunday returned home unharmed early Tuesday, the New Orleans Police Department said.
Police had been asking for the public's help in locating Maiah Sylvester, 12, who was reported missing Sunday evening from her Algiers home
Maiah had last been seen taking out the trash a little after 6 p.m. at her home in the 4600 block of Berkley Drive, said officer Shereese Harper, an NOPD spokeswoman.
