Police Search For 2 Missing Sanford Teens

Teens Last Seen Thursday, Investigators Say

SANFORD, Fla. -- Police are seeking the public's help in finding two local teens who they say disappeared within hours of each other in Sanford.

Investigators said 14-year-old Genesis Brown and 15-year-old Isaiah Calderon were last seen late Thursday.

"They're very vulnerable, anything could happen," said Sgt. David Morgenstern, of the Sanford Police Department. "Everyone's worried about that."

Police said Calderon, who attends Seminole High School, never returned home after school.

"We've had no past history of him running away; that's what concerns the parents," Morgenstern said.

Investigators, however, said they have not put out an Amber Alert for the teens because they don't believe either is in danger. "We want to get to them before they're influenced to do anything wrong," Morgenstern said. "We want to get them home to their concerned parents."

Brown's mother told police they got into a fight after the teen returned home from Crooms Academy. She hasn't seen her daughter since 6:30 p.m. Thursday, police said.

"She could get into some trouble, get in with the wrong crowd, anything bad could happen." Morgenstern said. "We hope she's with a friend hiding her out, maybe the
parents will see this on the news say, 'Hey, Genesis is at our house' and give us a call."

Police said they could put out an Amber Alert if they receive information that either teen could be in trouble or if someone has seen them in a potentially dangerous situation.

afternoon and are reported to be safe. At this time authorities do not
know the circumstances prompting their disappearance, but continue to
