LAS CRUCES - The Dona Ana County Sheriff's Department is looking for
Bennie Barela-Gutierrez, who has been missing since December.
The 15-year-old was last seen on December 18, 2010 in her home in Las
Cruces. She hasn't had any contact with family, friends, or her
boyfriend. The sheriff's office says she's gone missing before, but
never for this long and never without some contact with relatives. They
also say she has medical conditions and has tried to hurt herself in the
past.

She is Hispanic, 5'5", weighs 150 pounds, and has dark brown hair and

LAS CRUCES-- Dona Ana County Sheriff's Office have found the missing girl who went missing in December of 2010.
DASO received "numerous" tips about Bennie Barela-Gutierrez. She was
originally reported missing in December of 2010. Barela-Gutierrez had
gone missing before, but not for long periods of time, said DASO.
No other information was given on her location or her well-being, but
Barela-Gutierrez is "alive ad well ans is now in contact/custody of her

UPDATE 3:25 p.m. : DASO has released new information on the case about
the missing teenage girl whom was found after she was missing for four
months.
Bennie Gutierrez-Barela, 16, who had been missing since December 2010,
was found after she was spotted Monday night at the drive-through lane
of a McDonald's on Lohman in Las Cruces. A tip sent to DASO said
Gutierrez-Barela was alive and living with a boyfriend somewhere in Las
Cruces.
The person that recognized Gutierrez-Barela confronted the driver of
the vehicle, and told him she was a runaway. The male fled the area.
The male suspect was later found and arrested by LCPD. Gutierrez-Barela
was also found in the area and taken into custody by an LCPD detective,
taken to an area hospital for medical treatment, and reunited with her
family.
