Police searching for missing sex offender and teen girl

KINGFISHER COUNTY, Okla. - Investigators are
searching for a man who is a registered sex offender and his 14-year-old
niece who were last seen leaving Kingfisher County Wednesday morning. Investigators
say Matthew Mark Mallory and 14-year-old Ariel Mallory are believed to
be traveling in a maroon Ford Taurus with Oklahoma license tag 948-GPL. Investigators
say they have no indication where they may be heading, but do say
Mallory is armed and should be considered dangerous.
A warrant has been filed for Mallory’s arrest for child abandonment.
Mallory is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing approximately 165 pounds,
with brown hair and brown eyes.

Law enforcement officials say they have reason to believe a
lifetime sex offender who disappeared Wednesday from Kingfisher with
his 14-year-old niece may be heading to another state.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown said
investigators believe Matthew Mark Mallory and Ariel Mallory may be
heading to Missouri.

“It is also possible Matthew Mallory will look for work on a chicken farm,” Brown said.

The two left King-fisher County Wednes-day. Law enforcement believes
Mallory is armed and should be considered dangerous. A warrant has been
issued for Mallory’s arrest on a charge of child abandonment of a child
under 10 in Kingfisher County. Bond on the warrant is set at $100,000.

Mallory is 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighs about 165 pounds and has brown
hair and brown eyes. He has a 1996 conviction in Oklahoma County for
second-degree rape, online records show.

Marshals: Matthew Mark Mallory Has History Of Sexually Assaulting Minors

According to authorities, Matthew Mark Mallory has a history of sexually assaulting minors and, according to authorities in Oklahoma, is armed and dangerous.
Mallory is in the company of a missing 14-year-old girl, Airel Mallory, who is Matthew Mallory's niece.
Early Monday morning, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office located Matthew Mallory's vehicle, a maroon 2003 Ford Taurus, in south Bexar County and contacted the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force for help.
As Monday afternoon, helicopters and tracking dogs were being used in the woods near Interstate 37 between mile marker 127 and 128 along the San Antonio River.
"We do have a set of footprints that were Westbound from a campsite we found down there and some wet clothing that looked like it was hung there to dry," said Lt. Dennis Casillas, with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office. "He is a survivalist, so he knows how to survive in the wilderness. So this is not a big deal for him."

Matthew Mallory, 35, is described as being about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 165 pounds and having brown hair and brown eyes. He has multiple tattoos and piercings.
Airel Mallory, 14, is described as being about 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds and having blond hair and green eyes. She is missing from Okarche, Okla.
Around 1 p.m. on Sunday, the pair were spotted at the Walgreens located at 2200 E. Houston Street. Authorities said all of Mark Mallory's clothes shown in the photo were found at the campsite on Monday.

Sex Offender On Run With 14-Year-Old Niece Arrested In Texas

OKLAHOMA CITY – A sex offender who's been on the run with his 14-year-old niece since April 6 was arrested in Texas Tuesday.

Matthew Mallory and his niece Ariel Mallory had
been on the run since April 6, but despite being spotted at several
stores near San Antonio, Texas, they continued to elude authorities
over the weekend.

Authorities said Matthew Mallory was arrested without incident and Ariel is OK and was taken into custody.

U.S. Marshals found Mallory's red Ford Taurus in
a wooded area by the San Antonio River Monday. And surveillance video
showed the two walking into a San Antonio Walmart on Sunday as well as
a nearby Walgreens looking for makeup.

"We're hoping we've got him trapped in San
Antonio right now, and that he's not going to go anywhere else," said
Kingfisher County Sheriff Dennis Banther before he was caught. "We're
afraid for her safety, running out of money, anyone with his propensity
for violence could snap at any time."

Ariel's brother and mother were praying for police to find her and bring her home safely.

"I think she went willingly, 'cause they talked
about it for a while. The cops, they never would listen. I guess now
they will," said Ariel's brother Josh Mallory.

He said he was scared for sister's safety and he
knew Matthew to be very mean. He said his sister is a very trusting,
open person who bonded with Matthew after her mother broke up with
Matthew's brother and moved in with him.

Josh said none of the family had any contact with them.

"I would like for the public to say a prayer for
the police officers to find her, to guide her, comfort her and just to
make sure she is found and that she is ok," said Ariel's mother Angela
Tuszynski. "I'm relying on police and God to find her and bring her
home…Pray every single day, every minute. That's all I have right now
is my faith."

The OSBI is looking into the possible sexual
abuse of a minor under the age of 16 in the Mallory home. The OSBI said
the D.A.'s office asked them to step in several weeks ago and the
investigation is still open and active, but so far no one has been
arrested or charged.

Court papers filed with the Kingfisher County
Courthouse also reveal both Matthew and Ariel left a note behind giving
Ariel's mother custody of Matthew's seven-year-old daughter and an
infant Ariel gave birth to in February.

Police take Matthew Mark Mallory into custody after an extended manhunt.

Authorities in south Texas have found a 35-year-old Oklahoma sex offender and his teenage niece, according to the supervisory deputy U.S. marshal with the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.
Matthew Mark Mallory and Ariel Mallory, 14, were found late Tuesday, Thomas Smith confirmed to KOCO. Mallory is a registered sex offender and was taken into custody. His niece-by-marriage, Ariel Mallory, is a student at Kingfisher Middle School and was found alive and well, according to the spokesman.
Smith said the Bexar County Sheriff's Office will take Matthew Mark Mallory to jail and Ariel Mallory to a local hospital.
A U.S. Marshals Service spokesman talked about the developments during a news conference Tuesday night.
"We are very excited. Not so much that he's in custody but we're excited that we found Ariel Mallory and that she's safe," said spokesman Marc Crawford.
Crawford said the Mallorys had been in Missouri, Mississippi and Jacksonville, Fla. They even discussed going to Mexico.
Teenager Recently Gave Birth
Ariel Mallory had recently left a note giving her mother custody of the teen's newborn, an affidavit said. According to court documents, 14-year-old Ariel Mallory bore a child in February.
Matthew Mallory gave a similar note to the girl's mother, giving her custody of his 7-year-old daughter. A warrant was filed for Matthew Mallory’s arrest on a charge of child abandonment of a child younger than 10.
The two were seen on surveillance video at a San Antonio drug store on Sunday, U.S. marshals said.
A United States marshal told Eyewitness News 5 that the clothes Matthew Mallory were wearing in the surveillance video were found at a makeshift campsite.

Kingfisher County Sheriff Dennis Banther said the Kingfisher Middle School eighth-grader may have had no idea about the danger she was in.
Banther said that Matthew Mark Mallory and his niece were reported missing last Wednesday, hours after Matthew Mallory may have taken off with the girl Tuesday night.

Mallory has a history of sexually assaulting minors and was considered to be armed and dangerous, according to authorities in Oklahoma.

State Rep. Mike Sanders, R-District 59, said on Tuesday that Ariel Mallory, her 2-month-old baby and Matthew Mallory's daughter were living in conditions so deplorable that he intervened on their behalf.

"It was deplorable and despicable. I would not even allow my dog to be in that house. That's how bad it was," Sanders said.

Sanders began getting calls in his office about the living conditions of Ariel Mallory and two other children about two weeks ago, so he said he wasn't surprised when he learned that Matthew Mallory had taken off with the teen.

"The house was infested with bugs. (There were) live chickens running around the house, dog feces everywhere and molded food in the refrigerator," Sanders said.

Sanders said he was not surprised when he learned the girl had disappeared with Matthew Mallory, but he was outraged when he was told that Oklahoma Department of Human Services had received numerous complaints about the home months earlier.

"I don't think they are properly trained, and maybe they don't care. I don't know, but I am tired of the fact that they always seem to hide behind the law," Sanders said of the Department of Human Services.

A spokesperson for DHS said state law prohibits the department from discussing its involvement with any individual case, but that does not mean appropriate action is not taking place.

Sanders said this case highlights flaws in the system.

"The bottom line at the end of the day, our most precious resource are our children. And if this agency is not protecting them, then what good are they," Sanders said.

He said this case has made him begin thinking about drafting new legislation to address DHS and child protection laws

SAN ANTONIO -- Fourteen-year-old Airel Mallory stood before a judge Wednesday morning following a nine-day, multi-state manhunt.

"You know why you are here, right?," the judge asked.

"Yes," responded a very poised Mallory.

The
teen and her uncle, 35-year-old Matthew Mallory, went missing last
Tuesday. Bexar County investigators believe the two were involved in a
sexual relationship. The pair was spotted in Florida, Georgia,
Mississippi, and Louisiana before being caught in a farm field in South
Bexar County.

"Detectives found what they determined to be a map
outlining a path," explained Assistant Chief Deputy Dale Bennett with
the Bexar County Sheriff's Department. "They wanted to go to Mexico.
But, for whatever reason, they scratched that plan."

Airel
Mallory will be staying at the detention center until Oklahoma officials
pick her up, which could be as early as Wednesday or Thursday.

Matthew
Mallory is a convicted child sex offender, who was wanted in Oklahoma
for failing to register as a sex offender and for deserting a child
under 10 years old. He is being held at the Bexar County Jail and is
awaiting extradition.

Investigators are looking into whether or not he is the father of Airel's 2-month-old child.

"The
family pressure, or whatever it was, was getting to him, and he decided
he wanted to leave [Oklahoma]," added Chief Bennett. "And essentially
[Airel] says that 'If I can't leave with you, I'm going to run away on
my own.' So, that's when he decided to take her with him."
