ARIEL YEAGER - 17 yo - Castle Rock (N of Longview) WA
The family of a Castle Rock teenager missing since she steppedoutside her home to summon her cat to dinner Sept. 24 is asking forhelp locating her, though police believe 17-year-old Ariel Yeageris a voluntary runaway. Yeager was wearing her pajama pants, a black sweatshirt andtennis shoes when she disappeared from her family home in the 200block of Cowlitz Street East, just off the downtown area, hermother, Necole Yeager, reported.
Her daughter was in good spirits and had plans to watch a rented movie with her family before vanishing at about 10:30 p.m. that Friday without her purse or cell phone, said Yeager, who reported her eldest of three daughters missing the next day. Ariel Yeager, who turned 17 on Oct. 5, has not made entries on her Facebook and MySpace pages since she was last seen by her mother. However, after working the case several days, Castle Rock police learned Oct. 1 that Ariel had gone "mudding" — driving along muddy logging roads — with a friend the weekend of Sept. 25-26,said Castle Rock Patrolman Brandon McNew. The friend told officers she had seen Ariel walking alone on the town's dike path and that Ariel asked to join the mudding trip. When the fun was over, the friend said she returned Ariel to the dike, McNew said. Police have interviewed friends, a boyfriend and students at Castle Rock High School, where Ariel is a junior, and have not developed further leads, McNew said. "Initially we took this very seriously," McNew said. "Runaways typically take their stuff like cell phones with them. We are still taking it seriously, but we're under the impression that she is a runaway. She is probably safe and with friends. We are exhausting every effort to track her down." Ariel Yeager is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs about 180 pounds and has dark hair and hazel eyes. No description of the clothing she was wearing when she was dropped off on the dike was available. McNew said Yeager's mother reported that her daughter has runaway before, but Necole Yeager disputed that. She also said she had not heard about the "mudding" report police regard as confirmed. Even so, it's been two weeks without any reliable information about her daughter, said Yeager, a homemaker whose husband,William, is a U.S. Navy man currently home on leave. "I am getting scared and paranoid," she said. "This is out of(Ariel's) character ... She talks to everyone. She is so social. I don't understand how she can stop being social with everyone she knows."

Missing Castle Rock teen returns to family
By Andre Stepankowsky / The Daily News | Posted: Monday, October 18, 2010 2:09 pm
A Castle Rock teenager who vanished Sept. 24 returned home voluntarily and uninjured Monday, but has not told her family or authorities where she's been. Ariel Yeager, 17, knocked on her front door at about 9:30 a.m.Her mother, Necole Yeager, answered the door. "I was getting ready to leave to run some errands, and there she was standing there with a friend who drove her over to our house,"Necole Yeager said. "I stopped there and stared. I asked her if she was going to stay home and she said ‘Yeah,' and started crying." Yeager alerted Castle Rock police to her daughter's return, and officer Brandon McNew spoke with Ariel on the telephone and hoped to speak with her in person later in the day. "She said she was a runaway. She got stressed out and left,"McNew said Monday. Necole Yeager said her daughter told her "Time got carried away and then she got too scared to come home." She said she had not had time by Monday afternoon to press her daughter about how and where Ariel had spent the last three weeks. Necole Yeager plans on getting her daughter counseling, she said. Ariel told her mother she was stressed out about getting older and having to assume more responsibility when she turns 18 next October. Her 17th birthday occurred while she was missing on Oct.5. Police have been treating the case as a runaway. A friend of Ariel Yeager's had told investigators Oct. 1 that she'd seen and provided transportation for Ariel only a few days after the teen was reported missing.
