Sex offender hunt is linked to teen nursing student's abduction
PARSONS, TN (WBTV & WMC) - Authorities
have revealed that a sex offender has gone missing and they are
investigating that case in relation to the disappearance of a nursing
student in April.
Holly Bobo, 19, was seen being led away from
her home into woods. Her brother said in mid-April he saw a man with
her and authorities later found blood at the home.
Now, more than 3 months later, nearby sheriff's detectives say there is a sex offender that they can't find in the Parsons area.
The search for all sex offenders in the area
started just after Bobo disappeared – and Victor George Wall, 44, has
not turned up, according to the Decatur County Chronicle.
"Wall was one we couldn't locate, so we put out a warrant for him," Special Agent Fred Moore told the newspaper Wednesday.
As recently as 2 weeks ago, there was an
active command center in Parsons staffed with investigators tracking
down leads in the teen's disappearance in the area about 100 miles
southwest of Nashville.
With so much interest in the case, the search has not been easy for the family.
"Sundays are the hardest days because we were together, our whole
family, all day long," said Holly Bobo's mother Karen Bobo. "Usually on
Sunday we were doing things."
Holly Bobo's disappearance has made life almost unbearable for her
family. The 20-year-old nursing student disappeared in April. A
massive search with thousands of volunteers combing miles of wooded area
began almost immediately.
Details of the disappearance trickled out. Investigators said her
brother Clint Bobo saw her walking into the woods behind her family's
rural home with a man wearing camouflage from head to toe.
"He actually had an arm holding her, so we feel she knew she was in fear
of her life, so she was compliant with his commands," said John Mehr
with the TBI.
Decatur County Sheriff Roy Wyatt said Clint Bobo was the only one at home with Holly Bobo.
"This is according to her brother that he had seen her being led into the woods," said Wyatt.
Clint Bobo thought the man he saw wearing camouflage and walking toward
the woods with his sister was her boyfriend. Investigators were
initially not clear about how long it took her brother to realize
something was wrong, but Wyatt said it did not take long.
"A very, very short time," said Wyatt.
Wyatt said Clint Bobo called his mother first. She then called 911.
Soon after, people were searching the wooded area around the Bobo
family's house.
Investigators said Clint Bobo got only a glimpse of his sister's
abductor, who he described as approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 200
pounds.
Aside from some items belonging to Holly Bobo that were discovered along tree lines, Wyatt said they have found nothing.
The FBI, TBI and the Marshal's Service are still in Parsons running
down tips and leads. Wyatt said more than 100 people claiming to be
psychics have offered their expertise. He said some of them have had
some interesting information.
"You have to check those things out," said Wyatt. "You have to look at those just like you do anything else."
As the search continues, pink ribbons and flyers cover entire counties near Holly Bobo's home.
"Holly, we love you," said Karen Bobo. "We miss you so much and we'll
never give up looking for you until you are safely home."
There is an $85,000 reward for information leading to Holly Bobo's
location and the arrest of her abductor. She is 5-3 and weighs 110
pounds with blonde, shoulder length hair and blue eyes. Holly Bobo was
last seen wearing a pink shirt and light blue jeans.
Anyone with information should call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
Investigators have not cleared anyone as a suspect in this case and
investigators believe whoever took Holly Bobo knew her or knew of her
and knew the area.

Search warrant issued in Bobo investigation
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
An Ohio man is being
investigated by both the TBI and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal
Investigations for obstructing the investigation into Holly Bobo, the
Channel 4 I-Team has learned.
On Wednesday, investigators with the TBI and the BCI served a search warrant at the East Liverpool home of Tony Calabrese.
Investigators seized his computer and other belongings, and Calabrese said he and his roommate were questioned for hours.
The TBI tells the Channel 4 I-Team Calabrese
has been obstructing their investigation by soliciting leads and stating
that his tactical search and rescue team is finding clues on the case.
A TBI spokeswoman said Calabrese is not a
suspect in Holly's disappearance, but has been obstructing their
investigation by soliciting leads and portraying that his search and
rescue team is actively investigating on their own.
The Channel 4 I-Team spoke with others who said that Calabrese mislead them into believing he was with law enforcement.
Rose Kopp, a psychic in Hawaii who gained TV
notoriety for helping police solve missing persons cases, got a call two
months ago from Calabrese, asking her to help find Bobo.
Kopp said Calabrese told her he was with a tactical search and rescue team.
But Kopp said when Calabrese called back, he sounded nervous.
"I sensed a kind of panic or anxiety in his
voice, and he said that the TBI had contacted him and told him not to go
to Tennessee, to stay out of the investigation, and I said, in that
case, I'm out," Kopp said. "He misled me, by telling me he was on this
tactical team."
Michelle Crosslin and Jane Tatum said they
have been contacted by Calabrese, through the Facebook pages they set up
to help find Bobo.
Both Crosslin and Tatum said Calabrese quickly became a hindrance when he chastised people for not searching.
"He has interfered from day one. It's time he stopped. He needs to be stopped," said Crosslin.
Calabrese set up a website under the tactical
search and rescue team, featuring photos of Holly, and solicited leads,
claiming to pass them on to law enforcement.
But the TBI said Calabrese is interfering
with the case by soliciting leads and drawing attention away from their
investigation, and asked Ohio investigators to help investigate him.
The Channel 4 I-Team reached Calabrese at his home in East Liverpool, Ohio.
"You're a guy in Ohio who has all this
interest in the case. I don't know if you can blame investigators for
being suspicious about your interest in this case," said WSMV chief
investigative reporter Jeremy Finley.
"I don't blame them at all for that. What I do blame them for is wasting time," Calabrese said.
Calabrese said the TBI is just angry with him because he found information about Holly's disappearance and passed it along to Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam.
Calabrese admits he hasn't physically come to Tennessee to help in the search, and has done all his work by computer.
He also said he has never run a search and rescue team before Holly's disappearance.
"Are you misleading people with this search and rescue team?" Finley asked.
"Several times, I have stated, that we are not law enforcement," Calabrese said.
As for the complaints from the other Holly
Bobo Facebook page creator, Calabrese said he doesn't post on those
pages and stays away from them.
"The TBI has told you to stop interfering with this investigation. Are you gonna stop?" Finley asked.
"I told Karen Bobo I would do anything I
could, like anybody else, trying to find her daughter to bring that girl
home," Calabrese said.
Calabrese said his search and rescue team is made up of volunteers, many who have physically come to Darden to search.
Calabrese would not elaborate on what he said he's found out about Holly's disappearance.
Karen Bobo, Holly's mother, had no comment.

Holly Bobo Case: How many times has Clint's story changed?
06/14/2012
Whitney Duncan, the cousin of missing woman Holly Bobo, addressed the media
yesterday in an attempt to garner more attention. Unfortunately, some of
her comments tend to make it harder on her cousin's case than they
should, and this is something that has happened before with Duncan.
She's probably better off sitting back quietly while the investigation
continues, but it doesn't look like she's going to.
The Twitter
hashtag #HollyBobo has been used to share awareness of the missing
Tennessee nursing student since April of 2011 when she was allegedly
abducted from her own yard while her brother watched. Over the course of
the young woman's disappearance, Clint Bobo's story has changed several
times and the behavior of his family members certainly do not mirror the standard behavior expressed by parents of high-profile missing persons.
Whitney Duncan has falsely claimed that her family was "cleared of all
suspicion" by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation in the past, only
for the TBI to do damage control and correct her claims. Now she is
accusing the media of twisting her cousin's words, but it's more than
apparent that it's her family who have changed the stories, not the
media or the police. So why is she insisting on covering for those who
aren't being 100% truthful when it's probably not very good for her
career or the young woman who is still missing? One would figure they'd
be more interested in having their missing loved one return home than in
covering for dishonest family members. Unfortunately, it seems that
people have differing priorities.
"You can say bad things
about me. I don’t care. It doesn’t bother me at all, but to say
something about my family then we got problems," said Whitney Duncan.
While her grammar could use some improvement, it's really not the point
of the matter. What begs to be acknowledged is her behavior of twisting
this case into some issue pertaining to her more than her missing
cousin, Holly Bobo.
This isn't about Whitney Duncan or her bad grammar and "charming"
country way of protecting her family. This is about the disappearance of
a promising young nursing student who vanished under very suspicious
circumstances. Clint Bobo, her brother who was 25-years old at the time,
has made several changes to his claims regarding her disappearance.
First she was "dragged" from the property by a man in camo gear while he
watched. Then she was led under duress and then the story evolved to
something else. There are tons of resources that can be searched online
that document the constant evolution of Clint Bobo's story, as well as
the stories told by his mother Karen Bobo.
So is the media to blame for Clint Bobo not being completely honest in the first place?

Volunteers comb Holladay area for Holly Bobo, evidence
Search continues today for missing student
10:19 PM, Aug 11, 201
A group of about 30 volunteers searched in the Holladay area for missing Decatur County nursing student Holly Bobo on Saturday.
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, a man dressed in camouflage led Bobo, who was 20 at the time, into the woods behind her Darden home on April 13, 2011.
The search group, organized by Southeast K9 Search and Rescue, looked for evidence of Bobo on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“Anything that would have been Holly’s,” said Southeast K9 Search and Rescue Director of Operations Chris Williams, “any kind of clothing, anything that would be in a purse, school books, anything like that that we could find, anything out of place.”
Though Saturday’s search found no additional evidence, Williams said it was beneficial.
“It’s not that we didn’t find anything,” he said. “It’s that we got this much more area covered that hadn’t been covered.”
Williams said it was important to cover more ground in the search.
“We’re never going to find her sitting at home,” Williams said. “We’ve got to be out here, working these areas, getting this stuff done. If we’re not doing it, then nobody is.”
The organization has helped the Bobo family search for nearly the duration of her almost 16-month disappearance. Recently the organization began asking for volunteers, with a goal of 200 searchers.
Dana Bobo, father of Holly, said searches have taken place every two weekends on Saturdays and Sundays. Volunteers planned to search from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, as well as on Aug. 25 and Aug. 26.
“And we’re all for that, as long as we’ve got people still wanting to come out and help,” Dana Bobo said. “It doesn’t matter if we get two people or 202 people, we’ll take whatever we can get, and we’ll go search.”
The organization expected about 50 to 60 people to participate in today’s search.
People interested in helping search for Holly Bobo can sign up at www.southeastk9sar.org. The organization will only accept those who pre-register for privacy reasons.

Search Continues For Holly Bobo Sixteen Months Later

DECATURVILLE, Tenn. - Sixteen months after Holly Bobo disappeared from Parsons, Tennessee, her family has not given up hope they will one day see here again.
The Bobo family has started to use different methods to keep their daughter's face and name on the top of everyone's mind.
"The urgency to find your child never goes away," said Karen Bobo.
Bobo's mother is hopeful a tip about her daughter's whereabouts may come from the Decatur County Fair. The family's church has set up a booth inside the fair's agriculture building. There is a tip box in the booth where people can leave information, with no questions asked.
"Most of the time there is no one in this building, so it really is an anonymous tip," Bobo explained.
The family also had 20,000 direct mail flyers printed. It contains several pictures of Bobo and information about where she would have been on April 13, 2011. The missing woman's mother said the mailer has one main purpose.
"Keeping her name and her picture out there. And I know I've had at least four calls from the mail outs," Bobo said.
The physical search for Bobo continues on most weekends.
"It is the community's search. It's this community that's going to be able to find Holly," said Chris Williams.
He is the director of Southeast K-9 Search and Rescue. Members of his organization have spent much of the last 16 months searching for Bobo.
Williams said community volunteers have played a crucial part of the search for Bobo and will continue to have an important role.
"It's very important that we keep them out here, and we keep them working. That's the way this family keeps their hope alive," Williams said.
There is a large-scale search scheduled for the weekend of August 25. Williams would like to see 200 volunteers help comb several wooded areas outside of Parsons.
Anyone interested in helping in the search must be at least 18 years old and they have to register ahead of time at www.southeastk9sar.com before coming out to the area.

Elizabeth Smart to visit West TN: Kidnapping victim to join Bobo family at Scotts Hill event
5:15 AM, Aug 22, 2012
Written by Tajuana Cheshier
Kidnapping survivor Elizabeth Smart and her father will join Holly Bobo’s family on Monday night at Scotts Hill High School in an effort to keep the issue of abduction in the public eye and to encourage Bobo’s safe return.
The event is free, open to the public and is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium.
Elizabeth Smart and her father, Ed Smart, will share their story, said Kevin Bromley, a spokesman for the Bobo family.
“The Smarts have been in contact with the Bobo family since Holly’s disappearance, and this is something that they wanted to do for them,” Bromley said.
Elizabeth Smart was kidnapped in June 2002 from her bedroom in Salt Lake City, Utah, when she was 14 years old. She was held against her will until a tip from the public led to her rescue nine months later. She was found less than 20 miles from her home.
Her kidnapper, Brian David Mitchell, was sentenced to life in a federal prison in May 2011. Mitchell’s wife, Wanda Barzee, was sentenced to 15 years for her role in the kidnapping.
Smart, now 24 and married, is an advocate for the prevention of crimes against children.
In an interview last week with the Des Moines Register in Iowa, where two girls have gone missing, Smart told the family, “Miracles do happen.”
Bobo, a 2009 graduate of Scotts Hill High, was kidnapped from outside the house where she lived with her parents and brother in the Darden area of Decatur County in April 2011.
Law enforcement and concerned members of the community have continued to search for Bobo, who was 20 years old at the time of her abduction. She was last seen being led by a man wearing camouflage into the woods near her home.
“The family wants to keep Holly’s story in the public,” Bromley said on Tuesday.
Dana Bobo, Holly’s dad, said searches for her have taken place every two weekends on Saturdays and Sundays. Volunteers plan to search again from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday.

$100,000 for Holly Bobo's Abductor
Reported by: Joy Lambert, Email: JLambert@abc24.com

CORDOVA, TN (abc24.com) - A Cordova man is hoping a six figure pay day will lead to an arrest in the abduction of Holly Bobo. This spring will mark two years since the West Tennessee nursing student disappeared.
Thurstle Mullen drives a beat up blue pickup, lives in a modest home in the suburbs of Memphis and has a stable, steady but moderate income. Mullen says, "If I was a secret billionaire the reward would be worth a lot more than that, a lot more."
Mullen says he is offering what he can afford. $100,000 to Holly Bobo's abductor if he turns himself in. "There's still the urgency that she could still be alive," Mullen says, "I can't even imagine what her parents are going through."
According to a witness, a man took Bobo from outside her Decatur County home in April 2011. Since then, friends, family and strangers have been hanging posters and searching the woods across Tennessee. "I think she's touched everybody." Mullen says, "You mention that name and it's like Natalie Holloway, only she hasn't received the publicity."
Kristhe Pakala remembers when Bobo was taken. She had no idea her neighbor, Mullen, was stepping in to help. "I've always believed in heaven angels and walking earth angels, this is an example of one," Pakala says.
"I want to do something that's really different," Mullen explains, "I want to make a difference in somebody's life other than mine."
Mullen has only met Bobo's parents once, but he believes his incentive could help bring them the peace they've been searching for. "You don't have to be rich to be philanthropic, this is my way of proving that." Mullen offers a challenge, "I would like other people to give it serious consideration, that this is a new, unique out-of-the-box way of solving crimes."
Mullen says the first $25,000 will be paid up front to the kidnapper, the remaining $75,000 will be paid in monthly installments throughout his sentence.

PARSONS, TN (WSMV) - Twenty-two months have passed since nursing student Holly Bobo vanished into the woods, and now we are getting a first look inside the place Bobo called home and the car port where she was abducted.
Channel 4 also spoke with her brother, Clint Bobo, who was the last to see her.
It was a Wednesday morning. Holly Bobo walked 10 to 12 feet to her car which had just been washed four days earlier.
Holly's family told Channel 4 they believe her kidnapper was waiting around the corner in the car port watching the reflection on Holly's car. And when Holly rounded the corner, that's when they think he struck.
"All the time it stays on my mind,"said Clint Bobo.
He watched through the kitchen door as his sister's captor escorted her into the woods.
"The last I seen them, they were walking past those two trees back there to the left of that tree house," he said.
Next, they walked down a 4-wheeler path in the nearby woods. The Bobo family dog, Champ, followed, wagging his tail the whole way.
It's a two-minute walk to the main road. Holly's family believes he, whoever he is, had a car waiting on the other side. They do not know if he had help.
"There are just so many questions unanswered," said Clint Bobo.
In the room she left behind, nothing has changed.
There's a teddy bear, makeup, pictures of friends and the boy she dreamed of marrying.
The Bobo family allowed us in for the first time Monday because they don't want people to forget.
"We're a close family and we've always been a close family. It's just right now one of us is missing," said Karen Bobo, Holly's mom.
It's been a daily struggle and constant effort keeping the word out there.
"There's just nothing normal about us any more," said Karen Bobo.
Holly Bobo is still missing.
"We know that someone knows something," said Karen Bobo.
And they need her back alive.
"Just hoping that today will be the day," said Karen Bobo.
"Please just let Holly go. Let her come back to her family," said Clint Bobo.
The TBI said they have no new information to share on the case.
The Bobos are desperate for new leads and that's why they continue to put out flyers and banners. Anyone who would like them for their home or business can contact 731-733-3913.

Sarasota Private Eye Kayla Sharrow Looks Into The Investigation of Multiple Missing Petite Blond Females Like Holly Bobo and Heather Hodges
Friday, September 20, 2013
Sarasota Private Eye Kayla Sharrow Looks Into The Investigation of Multiple Missing Petite Blond Females Like Holly Bobo and Heather Hodges. Last month I was invited to Atlanta GA by CNN Headline News and Jane Velez Mitchell to participate in the ongoing investigator of multiple missing petite blond females like Holly Bobo and Heather Hodges by what appears to be a serial abductor. These missing petite blond females appear to have been kidnapped by a serial abductor and this premise will be the subject of CNN Headline News and Jane Velez Mitchell new series called ‘GONE’.
The new CNN/HLN Jane Velez Mitchell series called ‘GONE’ will profile Holly Bobo, Heather Hodges and other missing females, the mother of Holly Bobo, Karen Bobo, is also on the program. There had been 5 identical cases of petite blond haired white females who just vanished from the face of the earth when I was on CNN/HLN in November 2011, cops had no clues as to where any of then are or have a suspect. Karen Swift’s body and Katelyn Markham’s body have been found but cops still have no suspect. In the Holly Bobo case it appears that a white male about be 5′ 10″ to 6′ 0″ tall and over 200 lbs kidnapped Holly Bobo from her carport in Darden TN but the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has been unable to find her or her abductor. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has also been unable to solve the Karen Swift abduction and murder.
(WMC-TV) – With the help of a new group and a map, there is shocking new evidence in the disappearance of Holly Bobo. “As Holly’s mother, I cannot stop looking for my daughter,” said Karen Bobo wearing a necklace with her daughter’s photo. More photos of Holly Bobo sit on the piano behind her mother. It has been two long years since Holly, a nursing student, disappeared from the family home in Darden. “The lack of communication has been a huge problem (TBI),” said Karen Bobo who is frustrated. “I expect respect, professionalism. I know they are not counselors. I just don’t think it’s too much to ask for information. Where they are on the case,” said Bobo. That frustration with the TBI forced Bobo to team up with a group from Middle Tennessee. They have put together a lot of information including the fact that Holly’s phone was discovered in the grass in a culvert. It was found about eight miles from her home by people searching from the Bobo’s church.
Who is responsible for more than a dozen white, pretty, petite look-a-like females with long blond hair who have been listed as missing, kidnapped or unfortunately murdered over the last few years? All of these “missing” petite blond females, Heather Hodges, Kelli Bordeaux, Paige Johnson, Holly Bobo and Lauren Spierer and others all look-alike with almost identical features, size, height, weight, long blond hair and all are in the same age group, see example below.
1). Kelli Bordeaux, blond hair, 5′ 0″ tall and 99 lbs, 23 years old.
2). Paige Johnson, blond hair, 5′ 1″ tall and 110 lbs, 18 years old.
3). Holly Bobo, blond hair, 5′ 3″ tall and 110 lbs, 21 years old.
4). Lauren Spierer, blond hair, 4′ 11″ tall and 95 lbs, 21 years old.
5). Heather Hodges, blond hair, 5′ 1″ tall and 100 lbs, 22 years old
Despite national media coverage, extensive police searches and investigation, and an $250,000 reward, neither Holly Bobo nor her abductor have been found, nor has Lauren Spierer. Police are no longer actively searching for her and have no suspects, though the investigation remains open and ongoing. See FBI kidnapped poster for Holly Bobo, [b]http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/kidnap/holly-bobo/view
So what is this all about, is there some sort of ‘serial abductor’ out there roaming from state to state who strikes between the hours of 10:30 pm to 7:40 am? Why do all these missing girls look like sisters, same size, same age range, same hair color, etc., etc ., etc., sure are a lot of ‘coincidences’ or is a predator looking for specific type of petite blond female to abduct, sure looks like it!

Police search for evidence in Holly Bobo case after man was arrested
March 1, 2014
On Friday, seemingly out of the blue, search warrants have been executed at a house that is located about 15 miles from where a young Tennessee nursing student went missing in 2011.
Holly Bobo, then 20, was last seen near her car on Swan Johnson Road being escorted into the woods by an unknown person wearing camouflage clothing, as described by Holly's brother.
Her disappearance reached the national level and the media all but camped out in her small town in Decatur County for several weeks as they waited for updates from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations.
Evidence was found the following weeks after she went missing. Some proved to be not connected to the case at all. In one instant the evidence turned out to not be blood but bird poop, but other evidence turned out to be vital. One such item, was a white lunch box that was found about eight miles from her home in a creek.
Early on in the investigation the police also were able to track Holly's phone through her cell phone records, because it had not been turned off. The path went through Decatur and Henderson counties. The trace shows the phone stopping for about 15 minutes at a remote cemetery. The cell phone was eventually located along a highway north of Parsons, 8 miles from her home, and the SIM card was found a mile from there.
Because the route was winding but deliberate, "you would have to know the area to get through the woods," said former LAPD Detective Lou Leiker told WRCB news.
Why a search warrant is now being served at a home on Adams Lane in Decatur County that is owned by Zach Adams, 29, has not been answered by authorities. The FBI and TBI have worked in tangent going through the house and the grounds and even bringing in a cadaver dog. Four vehicles have been towed away from the home, report The Tennessean.
The police won't say why the arrest of Zachary Adams on drug charges earlier in the week in Benton County and an arrest for aggravated assault on Friday led them to search his home in connection with the disappearance of Holly.
If Adams is found to be connected to the disappearance of Holly, did the authorities talk to him before? According to Danielle Darnell, Holly's friend, yes they did. The TBI had been on his property and they know that Adams, along with two of his friends were following Holly around during a "coon hunt dinner," a week before she went missing.
Danielle Darnell told the Jackson Sun that she had talked with the TBI about Zachary, who she had known all of her life. It is pretty safe to guess that Holly probably knew him also.
The description of the person that took Holly was said to have been a white male between 5'10" tall and 6 foot and weighing between 180 to 200 pounds. There are many people that fit that description, including Zachary Adams.
As of Saturday, authorities have not named anyone a suspect and were quoted to have said it was premature to say there are any suspects at this point.
"This is a very important time in this investigation. We're not going to say or do anything at the point to interfere with this investigation," said TBI Director Mark Gwyn Friday afternoon. "Hopefully we'll be able to return Holly home safely to her parents. That's our goal."
With Gwyn's carefully worded statement you can't help but wonder if they know more than what they are saying and are making sure they are handling the case strictly by the letter of the law in case it ends up in an arrest.

Excavator Brought To Search In Holly Bobo Case

HOLLADAY, TN (WSMV) - Investigators returned Sunday to site of a renewed search for information in the 2011 disappearance of nursing student Holly Bobo.
The effort was scaled back from the response first seen Friday, and incoming freezing rain and ice threatened to slow progress.
A small Bobcat excavator was seen being brought in on a trailer Sunday afternoon. It wasn't clear where on the property the equipment was used.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Federal Bureau of Investigation executed several search warrants Friday in connection with the case, but have said little else about what they are looking for.
TBI Director Mark Gwyn held a press conference Friday afternoon near the scene of one of the searches, the home of Zachary Adams. The property is on Adams Lane, just south of Interstate 40 in Decatur County – about 15 miles from Bobo's home.
Adams was arrested by Decatur County authorities Friday afternoon on unrelated aggravated assault charges.
"Early this morning, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation began executing search warrants in Decatur and surrounding counties," said Gwyn. "We're also conducting several interviews in Decatur and surrounding counties."
The TBI has blocked access to Adams Lane and several marked cars are in the front yard. A cadaver dog from the Shelby County Sheriff's Office has also been brought to the scene.
Saturday's search included a new focus on a pond and an abandoned home near the property.
Authorities brought at least two vehicles on flatbed tow trucks to the scene Friday, including a PT Cruiser that appeared to be riddled with bullet holes.
"This is a very important time in this investigation. We're not going to say or do anything at the point to interfere with this investigation," said Gwyn. "Hopefully we'll be able to return Holly home safely to her parents. That's our goal."
Agents were also seen from Air 4 sifting dirt, looking for clues in an area behind Adams' home.
Adams had been released Wednesday from the Benton County jail after posting bond on drug-related charges prior to his arrest Friday.
"It's no surprise. Drugs have been a big factor in his life. It's changed him. He's no longer the Zach that I grew up with," said Danielle Darnell, a friend of Bobo's who knows Zach Adams.
It's been nearly three years since Bobo disappeared from her family's home in Parsons, TN.
Bobo was last seen on the morning of April 13, 2011, when she was seen by her brother being led away from her Darden, TN, home.
The Bobos' family pastor said he has been in contact with Holly's family much of the day Friday. The Rev. Don Franks, pastor at Corinth Baptist Church, said the family is hopeful at the latest search.
"We still believe deep down in our hearts that she's alive. Developments in nearby states, these ladies that have been missing 10 years or whatever, brought renewed hope to the family and this community," Franks said. "I think I've said it before, we're country people, country folks, and we're just not going to give up on finding Holly."
The massive search began just one day before Bobo's friends and family planned to gather for a day of prayer. Hundreds visited the family church Saturday.
"I know the family needs our prayers, and we pray she'll be found and found alive," said Vicki Forrester, who lives across from the Adams Lane search scene.
Gwyn did not indicate what prompted the agency to ask for the search warrants.
"We've come a long way and it's taken a long time to get to the point we are now," said Gwyn. "Now's not the time to put anything in jeopardy."
"We believe there are people, individuals, in Decatur County that have information in the disappearance of Holly Bobo, and we're asking them to come forward," Gwyn said.

Holly Bobo case: Arrest made in 2011 murder, kidnapping
ASHVILLE, TENN. – A man was charged Wednesday with kidnapping and murdering a nursing student who was last seen outside her West Tennessee home nearly three years ago, investigators said.
Holly Bobo was 20 when she disappeared on April 13, 2011. Her brother told authorities he saw a man in hunting clothes leading her into the woods around the family home near Parsons, about 100 miles northeast of Memphis.
Last week, investigators in the case searched the home of 29-year-old Zachary Adams and he was arrested in an unrelated aggravated assault case on Friday. Tennessee Bureau of Investigation director Mark Gwyn on Wednesday announced the grand jury indictment against Adams in Bobo's disappearance.
Gwyn would not say what kind of evidence was found during the search or whether authorities have recovered any remains. Adams' home in the Holladay community is about 15 miles from Bobo's home where she was last seen.
Adams was in custody with no bond set. Gwyn did not rule out the possibility of other arrests in the case and said the investigation in continuing.
Gwyn said someone from the TBI spoke with the Bobo family before the indictment was announced at a news conference.
"Obviously, they're devastated," Gwyn said.
Asked about the basis for the charges of especially aggravated kidnapping and first degree felony murder, District Attorney General Hansel McCadams said, "We believe we can prove that she was taken forcefully from her home without her consent."
"Based on the evidence that we have before us, we also feel that she was killed in the perpetration of that kidnapping," McAdams said.
McCadams said he will consider pursuing the death penalty if Adams is convicted.
Adams was indicted during a specially called session of the grand jury and his arraignment is set for Tuesday. He will tell a judge at that time whether he can afford to hire a lawyer or if he needs one appointed.
After Bobo's disappearance, investigators and volunteers scoured the town of about 2,400 people and the surrounding terrain where cow pastures, old barns, thick woods, flowery fields and dusty back roads comprise the landscape. Residents adorned mailboxes, lamp posts and store fronts with pink bows, as a sign of hope and solidarity with the family. Pink became the color associated with Bobo because she was wearing a pink shirt and carrying a pink purse when she disappeared.
Bobo family friend Kelly Allen said she always held out hope that Holly was alive.
"I have really mixed emotions," said Allen, contacted by phone at her business, Parsons Florist, after the news conference. "I'm mad, I'm upset, I'm grieving for the family and friends and the whole community."
Corinth Baptist Church pastor Don Franks said before the news conference that he was with the family. At the time he spoke to The Associated Press, he said the TBI had not informed them about what would be said at the news conference.
He said the family has been relying on their faith to get through the ordeal and that will continue.
"They just need prayers. It's a very emotional time for them," he said.

Zachary Adams' mother comments on Holly Bobo investigation
Mar. 4, 2014
Written by The Jackson Sun
While her son remained in jail Monday on an unrelated charge of aggravated assault, Zachary Adams' mother made comments to a Nashville television station about the Holly Bobo investigation.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spent the weekend searching property belonging to Zachary Adams, 29, and his grandfather in Decatur County after serving a search warrant in the Bobo case. The TBI has declined to comment about Zachary Adams and has not named any suspects in the Bobo investigaiton. Holly Bobo has been missing since she was abducted from outside her home in Decatur County in April 2011. She was 20 years old at the time.
In a statement to WSMV Channel 4 News on Monday, Zachary Adam's mother, Cindy Adams, said: "This investigation is about finding Holly Bobo, and the family does not want anyone to lose sight of that. Zachary Adams has, to my knowledge, not been questioned by the TBI regarding Holly Bobo's case, yet he is still incarcerated in the county jail with a minor assault charge and they have set his bail at $1 million. His brother, Dylan Adams, has been interrogated without an attorney present and held in federal holding.
"I am not here to justify my son's addiction or addictive behaviors, but he is my son who I love dearly and will continue to do so. There have been many who have been quick to jump to conclusions about my son's involvement. Let the TBI put together pieces of this investigation without any allegations and false reports of guilt.
"We want Holly Bobo found but do not want a witch hunt in doing so. To my knowledge, my son and Holly Bobo never were in the same circles. Being a drug addict does not make someone a kidnapper. I know of no motive on my son's part to have been involved or know anyone who was involved in the alleged kidnapping case."
Cindy Adams lives in Atlanta.
Zachary Adams was arraigned Monday in Decatur County on a charge of aggravated assault. He is accused of holding a gun to a Benton County woman's head and threatening to "gut" her with a knife at his home on Feb. 6, according to an affidavit.

Holly Bobo Suspect Has History Of Violence Against Women

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- So who is Zachary Rye Adams?
NewsChannel 5 Investigates has uncovered shocking new details about Holly Bobo's alleged killer.
It turns out, Adams has a history of violent assaults against women, including his own mother.
While the 29-year-old unemployed Decatur County man has claimed that he's "not the one," the search of Adams' property over the weekend revealed some potentially tantalizing clues -- including a PT Cruiser apparently riddled with bullet holes.
And court records paint a dark portrait of a troubled man with a history of violence against women.
In 2004, Adams even shot his own mother in the knee at point-blank range with a 9-millimeter handgun.
At the time, Zach Adams was just 19.
In a petition for an order of protection, Adams' stepfather wrote, "We are in fear of our lives," adding that Adams "is a danger to us and the community."
Then three months after Holly Bobo disappeared in 2011, Adams was in trouble again for assaulting another young woman.
Rebecca Earp claimed in court documents that Adams assaulted her "by gripping my neck and pushing me to the floor."
As she tried to get away, Adams "was threatening to shoot me so I turned back around," she said.
That's when "Adams pushed me against the truck and got me on the ground and started hitting me again."
Later, as she sat on the front porch of the house that was just searched, Earp claimed, "When I didn't look at him, he would squeeze my head till I would look at him in the eyes. Then, he would punch me across the porch."
She added, "Adams stated that he would shoot me just like he did his mom."
A month later, investigators went back to the farm to arrest Adams and saw signs that the convicted felon was in the possession of weapons and ammunition.
According to a request for a search warrant, investigators said there were "several targets and items that had apparent bullet holes."
"A black-and-white dog walked up and it had a bleeding wound on its side."
Adams' grandfather said "Zach had shot the dog from the porch."
And just this week, Adams was back in court for the alleged assault last month of Amber Bray.
According to court documents, Adams caused Bray to fear for her safety "by holding a black revolver to her head and threatening to kill her."
"He also pulled a knife on her while threatening to 'gut' her."
After Adams shot his mother in 2004, he pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and was sentenced to six months in jail, although the order says he would be allowed to do that time in rehab.
In the second case, he was allowed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge. He was sentenced to 120 days in jail, again getting credit for time in rehab.
The case involving the third woman is still pending.
Adams' Facebook page also shows that he's a fan of the 2008 film Taken, which is about the abduction of a young woman.
He's also a fan of the novel, The Turner Diaries, which is a favorite among the anti-government, white separatist crowd -- although we don't know anything about his personal beliefs.

Report: Holly Bobo's mom taught daughter's alleged killer
Authorities have not shed much light on how they connected Zachary Adams to the kidnapping and murder of long-missing Tennessee nursing student Holly Bobo, but a new report suggests that the families may have crossed paths years ago.
According to CBS affiliate WTVF, Adams' mother claims that Bobo's mother, Karen, was her son's elementary school teacher.
The 29-year-old Adams was charged Wednesday with especially aggravated kidnapping and first-degree felony murder. He is being held at the Chester County Jail without bond.
Adams was initially arrested on Feb. 28 on an unrelated assault charge as his home was searched in connection with the Bobo case. In the unrelated case he is accused of holding a gun to a woman's head at his home on Feb. 6 and threatening to "gut" her with a knife, reports WTVF.
The Decatur County Board of Education declined to comment on whether Karen Bobo ever had Adams as a student, but did confirm that Bobo taught in Decatur County, where Adams grew up.
According to a woman who answered the phone at Scotts Hill Elementary School in Scotts Hill, Tenn., Karen Bobo has been employed there for 27 years.
According to WTVF, Cindy Adams said her son Zachary and Holly Bobo, who was 20 years old when she disappeared, did not run in the same circles.
Following her son's arrest Friday in the unrelated case, Cindy Adams told Fox affiliate WZTV her son is "one of the sweetest people" but "got mixed up with drugs at an early age." She also told the station her other son, Dylan, has been behind bars since July and that authorities had questioned him in connection with the Bobo investigation following Zachary's arrest.
"I am not saying that either one of them is innocent, I am just saying that as their mother, I am going to believe my children until proven otherwise," she told the station.
Bobo disappeared from her home in Parsons, Tenn., about 110 miles southwest of Nashville, in April 2011. Her brother told police he saw a man in camoflauge leading her into the woods surrounding the family home.
Investigators would not comment on what led to the charges against Adams, but at least two vehicles were reportedly towed away from his property last week and a cadaver dog was brought in to aid in the search. Officials would not say whether Bobo's body has been located.
Adams' property in Decatur County is about 15 miles from Bobo's home.
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Director Mark Gwyn said Wednesday in announcing the charges against Zachary Adams that the investigation is ongoing and officials have not ruled out other arrests and indictments. Gwyn asked anyone with information in the case to come forward.
District Attorney General Hansel McCadams said the case against Adams is being evaluated as a death penalty-eligible case.

Accused Holly Bobo Killer: 'You Never Was, You Stupid Wh***'

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Did Holly Bobo's killer leave a clue on Facebook?
NewsChannel 5 Investigates has uncovered what could be explosive new evidence.
That evidence comes from accused killer Zachary Adams' own Facebook page -- and the timing could be especially critical.
Through a source, we were able to obtain access to Zach Adams' Facebook page -- and there we discovered a post apparently made within minutes of Holly's disappearance.
Bobo disappeared from her Decatur County home on April 13, 2011. Her brother told investigators he last saw his sister being pulled into the woods by a man dressed in camouflage.
That was about 7:30 in the morning.
Which makes the post on accused killer Zachary Adams' Facebook page so troubling.
His words: "You never was you stupid whore."
Even more disturbing, the date and time of the post: April 13th, 7:39 a.m.
That's within minutes of Holly Bobo's disappearance.
Was it a reference to the 20-year-old nursing student?
Adams' friends on Facebook asked whom he was talking about, but he never responded.
His on-and-off girlfriend at the time replied, "I'm sure it's me."
Still, one of the leads that investigators have followed in the Bobo case was that the killer might be someone who had sought Holly's attention and had been rejected.
In addition, while the community spent almost three years searching for Holly, Adams posted this picture back in December, showing himself dressed in camouflage.
His caption: "Who am I looking for?"
A friend replied, "Holly Bobo?"
The now-accused killer never responded.
Now, with investigators saying Zachary Adams is Holly's killer, he could end up being confronted in court with his own disturbing words.
It's likely that investigators will be looking at Adams' Facebook page, if they haven't already. They'll also want to make sure that the date and time showing up on Facebook are correct, and they'll want to find out where Adams was when he made that post.
As to why Adams would post something like that on Facebook if he really is the killer, neighbors told NewsChannel 5 that Adams had a serious drug problem -- mainly, involving meth.
So it's likely whatever he was thinking, he wasn't thinking clearly.

Questions remain as Adams makes first court appearance in Bobo case

Reported by Dennis Ferrier
DECATURVILLE, TN (WSMV) - Thousands of people have helped search for Holly Bobo over the years, and some of them were in the courtroom Tuesday as suspected killer Zachary Adams made his first appearance in the case.
Among those present were Bobo's parents and brother, who have stayed out of the public eye since Adams' arrest.
When they arrived to the Decatur County courthouse, they saw that someone in the past day or two has completely redecorated the square, tying pink ribbons and bows around trees and lamp posts in honor and memory of Holly Bobo.
There is not so much of a sense of relief and sadness in the community as there is a feeling that it is not over. There is a lot more to the case and so many questions remain unanswered.
"I do think there's more to come because they haven't released anything yet," said Parson resident Laura Rogers. "I'm just praying that everyone stays strong through it."
The people who sat in the courtroom Tuesday came for two reasons: to see the man who allegedly killed Holly Bobo, to support her family or both.
"I pray that God's will be done, whatever that may be. Holly is sitting somewhere high watching over everybody and can give everybody a sort of peace about it," said family friend Ricky Alexander. "I pray that justice will follow through."
Part of what feels so incomplete is the lack of answers.
"We've got to find Holly. With everything going on, even with a child, they've got to put her to rest. And that's probably the hardest thing that everyone's trying to figure out," said Decatur County resident Patrick Koller.
The family still grieves in privacy, negotiating a gauntlet of pain.
"I request that you pray for the Bobo family, that you respect their privacy. They are a family of great faith. By the grace of God, they will get through this," said family Pastor Don Franks.

Second suspect charged with murder in Holly Bobo case

Reported by Carley Gordon
DECATURVILLE, TN (WSMV) - Charges have been filed against a second suspect in the 2011 disappearance of nursing student Holly Bobo.
A special grand jury met Tuesday in Decatur County and returned indictments of especially aggravated kidnapping and first-degree felony murder against Jason Wayne Autry, 39, in Bobo's disappearance.
Autry is currently imprisoned at Riverbend State Penitentiary on an assault charge, and he is due for an arraignment Wednesday at 1 p.m.
Bobo was 20 years old when she disappeared outside her Darden, TN, home on April 13, 2011, as her brother saw her being led away from the home between 7:30 and 8 a.m.
The investigation picked up steam in February 2014 when agents from the TBI and FBI searched several locations in Decatur and surrounding counties, including the home and property of Zachary Adams in Holladay, TN, about 15 miles from the Bobo residence.
Adams, the only other person who has been arrested in the case, is also charged with especially aggravated kidnapping and first-degree felony murder. He faces an additional charge of coercion of a witness.
Adams appeared in court on Tuesday for the coercion charge.
Mark Gwyn, director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, said Adams and Autry are longtime friends.
It was learned in court on Tuesday that Adams' brother told investigators he saw Bobo alive in Adams' home after she disappeared. Adams' brother plans on testifying against him during trial.
Adams is scheduled to be in court again on Wednesday.
Gwyn said the case remains active, and Bobo's body has not been found.
Gwyn said anyone who had anything to do with Bobo's disappearance will be brought to justice, and he encouraged those who have information to contact the TBI hotline at 1-800-TBI-FIND.

Judge Declines To Issue Gag Order In Holly Bobo Case
Posted: May 28, 2014 7:49 AM CDT
Updated: May 29, 2014 5:25 AM CDT
DECATUR COUNTY, Tenn. – A Decatur County judge has declined to issue a gag order in the case against one of the two men charged in the murder and kidnapping of Holly Bobo.
Circuit Court Judge Charles Creed McGinley said Wednesday he would not be issuing the order "at this time" in the case of 39-year-old Jason Autry.
A gag order would bar those involved in the case from speaking publicly about it. McGinley said he has not granted a gag order in 26 years as a judge. However, the judge also advised the defendant to "exercise his right to remain silent."
The request was filed by prosecutors after Autry gave an exclusive interview to NewsChannel 5 from jail. McGinley advised everyone involved in the case to "try the case in the court and not in the media."
The state objected to the broad content of our interview and claimed the comments made by Autry and his attorney, Fletcher Long, could intentionally or unintentionally pose a substantial likelihood of prejudicing a fair trial because of the publicity.
Attorney General Beth Boswell claimed Long inappropriately allowed NewChannel 5 to interview his client while he was being held in segregation at Riverbend Maximum Security Prison.
Inmates in segregation are not allowed to do interviews in the prison. Our interview was conducted by way of video conferencing. The NewsChannel 5 crew was not at the prison.
Another motion that was addressed in court Wednesday afternoon was a defense motion that asked for "unfettered access" to their client. Attorney Fletcher Long claimed Riverbend Maximum Security Prison hindered Autry's right to a legal defense. Long complained that Riverbend has not allowed him face-to-face, private meetings with Autry, who is in segregation.
The judge said Wednesday that he would not grant "unfettered" access, but said they would look at Riverbend's policies and ensure the attorneys were able to speak with Autry without being overheard.
For the first time since arrests were announced in her daughter's death, Holly's mom Karen spoke to reporters Wednesday, blasting defense attorney's in the case.
"I'm asking people not to get sidetracked by the lawyers' circus and sideshow. That's not what it's about. Please don't forget about what this is about and that is Justice for Holly," she said.
"We've been living a nightmare for three years and that continues everyday," Karen added.
Jason Autry's lawyer Fletcher Long responded to her claims following Wednesday's hearing.
"If it's a circus sideshow it's not a circus we invited to town it was a circus sideshow before we every appeared," he said.
The judge also ordered that the prosecution must give the defense a "bill of particulars," which is essentially a timeline of the case -- including specific times and dates.
Autry and Zachary Adams have been charged with aggravated kidnapping and murder in connection with Holly Bobo’s death. Autry said in his exclusive interview that he was innocent and had no involvement in Bobo’s kidnapping or death. Long also claimed that Autry may have an alibi, saying he was out of the county when Bobo allegedly was taken.
Bobo was 20 when she disappeared from her family's rural home near Parsons on April 13, 2011. Investigators said her body has not been recovered.
On Tuesday, another hearing was held in chancery court to discuss a dispute over an immunity agreement for Shayne Austin, another man said to be involved in the case.
Decatur County Chancery Court Judge Carma D. McGee decided Tuesday that only a criminal court can decide whether prosecutors can revoke an immunity agreement reached with Austin.
A March 6 agreement granted Austin immunity from various charges, including "all charges arising out of the disposal, destruction, burial, and/or concealment of Holly Bobo's deceased body."
Prosecutors later revoked the agreement, saying Austin wasn't truthful with them. Austin's lawyer then sued in chancery court for breach of contract.

DECATUR COUNTY, TN - (WMC) - Zachary Adams, one of the men charged in Holly Bobo's disappearance and murder, appeared in front of a judge Wednesday afternoon in Decatur County.
At a previous hearing, Decatur County Judge Charles Creed McGinley said he will not take up anything that has to do with Adams' case without him being present in court.
Wednesday's hearing served as a type of status hearing to see where the prosecution and defense are at when it comes to sharing evidence collected during the investigation with one another.
"I've been fairly liberal in this order because I'm aware that there's a lot of discovery to take place. This is a case of unusual complexity because of the length of time that the investigation has gone on," said Judge McGinley.
Adams attorney, Jennifer Lynn Thompson, filed motions regarding evidence to be presented in court.
Under the term "Brady materials," the state is required to furnish all evidence that can be used for or against Adams in court.
The state promised they'd provide everything under law.
"This has been a nightmare for us for over three years. This family has been through hell and it needs to come to a conclusion," said a family friend of the Bobos, Tammy Ramey.
The judge asked both sides to supply information and evidence to one another in a timely manner.
Like at the last hearing, the judge emphasized that he wants to keep this case moving forward. He also added that he does not want to see Adams be treated any differently than other inmates at Chester County Jail.
"What I don't want, is simply because of the nature of this charge [coercion of a witness] for him to be treated differently than any other person at that holding facility [Chester County Jail]," added McGinley.
Zachary Adams and Jason Autry, who are longtime friends, are both charged with especially aggravated kidnapping and first-degree felony murder. Adams faces an additional charge of coercion of a witness. He pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
Holly Bobo was 20 years old when she disappeared outside her Darden, Tenn., home on April 13, 2011. Her brother saw her being led away from the home between 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. by a man wearing camouflage.
Unless new motions are filed in this case, both Zach Adams and the second murder suspect, Jason Autrey, will appear in court December 17.
