Police will continue to offer reward for information on Tamra Keepness

REGINA — The Regina Board of Police Commissioners voted on Thursday to continue offering a $25,000 reward for information that leads to determining the whereabouts of Tamra Keepness.

Keepness was last seen in her home in the 1800 block of Ottawa Street on July 5, 2004.

The reward was first offered later that month. The board has voted to continue offering it every year since then.

"As a parent, to think when you're in a shopping centre and your child disappears, just for a minute, how panicked you are — that's the first thing that popped into my mind," Mayor Pat Fiacco, chairman of the board, said, recalling when he first learned of Keepness's disappearance.

"How sad is this that this child is missing? Here we are, how many years later — and still missing. We have an obligation to do what we can to help find this little girl, however long it takes," he continued.

The reward would be given to the person or persons who, in the opinion of the board, provided information leading directly to the whereabouts of Keepness.

Anyone criminally responsible for her disappearance, members of her family and employees of law enforcement and correctional agencies are not eligible to lay claim to the reward.

On the 5th of July, 2004, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Tamra Keepness, 5 years old, was last seen at her residence in Regina, SK. Extensive searches of the area and investigation have failed to locate any trace of Tamra Keepness.
