Authorities in Virginia and North Carolina are
looking for a teenage mother and her 2-year-old daughter who have now
been missing for more than a week. Glenda Ester Reyes-Hernandez, 17, and her daughter, Kimberly, were last seen at their home on Sanderson Drive in Sterling on April 23, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Glenda's mother reported the pair missing. Investigators think that they might have traveled to Cary, N.C., which is located just outside Raleigh. Police
say they don't believe that the girls have been harmed. It appears that
Glenda packed clothes for herself and Kimberly for a few days, said
Kraig Troxell, spokesman for the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. "That indicates she left on her own will," he said. Troxell said he didn't know what precipitated Glenda to leave home. There
have been no leads in the search for Glenda and Kimberly since Loudoun
and Cary officials distributed information about the disappearance a
week ago, authorities said. "We put
out their pictures here, in case someone sees them," said Cary
spokeswoman Carrie Roman. She said the town has sent descriptions of the
girls and their photographs to the media and to a citizen email list. The
Sheriff's Office said Glenda is white, about 5 feet 2 inches tall and
about 180 pounds. She has black, shoulder-length, curly hair. Kimberly is 2 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 30 pounds, according to the Sheriff's Office. She also has black curly hair. Anyone
with information about their whereabouts is asked to call the Loudoun
County Sheriff's Office at 703-777-0475 or the Cary police department at
919-469-4012.

I hope that baby will be safe. Awful to think of her being dragged around by her teen mother. Sounds like another case of the teenage mother using the child to hurt her own mother who was obviously helping to raise the child.
