Casey Anthony trial: Judge says they will work all day tomorrow to find jurors

CLEARWATER — Chief Judge Belvin Perry pushed lawyers Friday to pick up the pace of jury selection in the Casey Anthony murder trial, but the careful questioning of potential jurors and the fatigue weighing on most everyone in court worked against their best efforts.
After five days spent culling a jury pool here, the parties will return to court today to find 12 jurors and eight alternates who can give the 25-year-old woman a fair trial. Perry said he and lawyers for the state and defense will work a full day — making good on his pledge to work Saturdays to keep this case moving ahead.
"I do think we can get a jury out of this group," Perry told the attorneys late in the day. "We will be pressing forward."
Widespread coverage of the case — and its effect on the opinions of potential jurors — has been a central concern all week, but Perry said he cannot control the media and warned "the longer we wait, then the more dangers there are."
