Jury selection picks back up today at 8:30 am ET. After 6 days of jury selection we’re sitting at 12 retained jurors. KZ, ellejay, and other awesome Hinky members have put together a list of the characteristics of each of these retained jurors in this article. Judge Perry is aiming for a panel of 12 jurists and 8 alternatives, although he did state that 15 total (3 alternatives) would be his “magic number” when he would start swearing in.

Local media outlets are stating various adjusted start dates for the trial; some say Wednesday, some Thursday. I think the safe thing to say is that Tuesday looks out of the question and the situation is very dynamic. Judge Perry has stated when he gets the total of 12 jurists and the number of alternatives he feels comfortable with they will be on the bus to Orlando, so…we’re just along for the ride. (In a different bus, of course, because a bunch of Hinky members on the same bus would surely cause a whole new jury selection process!)
