Day One Of The Casey Anthony Murder Trial……Was Casey’s Defense’s Opening Statement Jaw Dropping, Or Did It Leave You Sure That Justice Is Coming For Caylee?

Day one of Casey Anthony’s murder trial was very eventful. I thought that the opening statement by the State was masterful, well put together and Linda Drane Burdick did a wonderful job. Casey appeared a bit emotional at first, but it was obvious that her tears, if she wasn’t just acting, were for herself. Her shaking her head no didn’t mean too much because she shook her head no at things they had her on tape saying, so it was an act for the jury. Then came the defense’s turn. The lies that Jose Baez maintained as TRUTH, were just that, lies! He said Roy Kronk is suspicious, and that he had possession of Caylee’s remains and placed her there in the woods so he could find her and get the money. Problem is he couldn’t tell us how Mr. Kronk was supposed to have gotten Caylee’s body to start with. He said that Caylee Anthony died in the Anthony pool on June 16th and that it was an accident. He claimed that George found Caylee and yelled at Casey and told her that her mother would never believe her. He claimed that everything George told law enforcement was a lie to frame his daugher. He claimed that Casey acted stupid and lied like she did because of her family dynamics. He accused George of sexually abusing her since she was 8 years old. He got pretty graphic at a point. He also said that Lee followed suit and was doing the same. He used the picture of Cindy and Casey at Cindy’s brother’s wedding, when Casey was about 7 months pregnant to say that they all covered up her pregnancy, because Cindy’s brother had said in the very beginning that they denied Casey was pregnant, so surely they would cover up Caylee’s death. He claimed that law enforcement covered up that Caylee was just a drowning victim, and that they never investigated Kronk and covered up that he was questionable. He claimed there was garbage in the trunk, never a dead body. He threw George, Cindy, Lee, Kronk, LE, The FBI, The FDLE, Tony Lazzaro, Arpad Vass and a few more right under the bus. Cheney Mason was right, it was jaw dropping. Problem is the dots don’t connect. Casey was quite the drama queen and really hammed it up for this.
