Day 7 Of The Casey Anthony Murder Trial…….Sometimes It Is Not What A Person Says That Tells The Tale, It Is More What They Will Not Say
Excerpt:
Day 7 of the Casey Anthony murder trial came and went. What did we learn? In my opinion quite a lot, but the “bombshells” were not as obvious as one might think, and not necessarily where one might expect to find them. I normally would address the events of the day in somewhat of a chronological order, but this time something really stuck with me that was telling and it was near the end of the day, so be patient with me as this one will not be in any kind of order, but by highlight. The item I want to start with is a particular item that jumped out the most to me today, as it hits at the heart of Jose Baez’ opening statement. Let me just say that sometimes it is not what a person says that really tells the tale. It is more of what they will not say that speaks volumes.
Yuri Melich, one of the lead detectives on this case was called to the stand late in the day, and true to form Jose Baez had absolutely no respect for the man and while it wasn’t as much what he said or did to Mr. Melich, but what he said about him, what he tried to do and when cornered for his reasoning, what he wouldn’t say to back up his stance that really told the tale. Jose Baez and his team wanted to impeach Yuri Melich as a witness. Their basis was a blog. Mr. Baez started out trying to ask Mr. Melich about him going by any other names and Mr. Melich did not appear to know what he was talking about. Sooooo, Mr. Baez proceeds to ask him if he has ever gone by the name “Dick Tracy”. The State objected. Judge Perry stopped him and the jury was escorted out of the room to get to the heart of the matter. The ever bitter toward the blogs, Jose Baez gave this big long speal about how Yuri Melich had blogged on Websleuths and clearly showed bias, and was even reprimanded by his superior. The Judge insisted that he show where there was clear bias in the blog entries. WHAT DID HE COME UP WITH??? An entry he said was from September 29th (when he read it he said it was September 28th) of, I’m assuming 2008. By “Dick Tracy”.
