Baez tries to ask question about Henry Lee. State objects. Sidebar. The next question was "Did defense send someone to inspect car?"
Yes. He wore gloves but not hairnet.

Bloise stated he destroyed handwritten notes after making report. Baez tried to make this a big deal, asking over and over about destroying notes. Mr Bloise did a great job and kept stating everything in his notes were in the report but Mr Baez didn't seem to understand. Finally State objected. Move on

Baez asked about chewing tobacco. Mr. Bloise looked on list, empty copenhagen can and brown liquid in Crystal Light Bottle. Could not confirm what it was.

LDB re-direct. Clears up destroying written reports was protocol and Mr Bloise's opinion was car smelled of HUMAN decomposition.

Then Baez tries to confused things again by asking Mr Bloise why he didn't say HUMAN decomposition when he questioned him. Mr Bloise told him he didn't ask his OPINION. Baez finally got him to say his report said DECOMPOSITION. (Not a win by any means for Baez)

Friday's witnesses

CHARITY BEASLEY

Detective with the Orange County Sheriff's Office, Beasley assisted with Detective Yuri Melich in collecting at the Anthony home.

Beasley said she did not open any doors or trunk of Casey's car. The car was sealed with evidence tape. It was towed from the home to the evidence bay.

Defense attorney Cheney Mason told Beasley, "I'm over here," and motioned with his hand to look at him, not the jury as she's answering his questions. Judge Perry responded to Mason with shaking his head "no."

AWILDA MCBRYDE

McBryde works in the Missing Persons Unit at the Orange County Sheriff's Office. She has been employed in the unit for 10 years.

McBryde went to Johnson's Wrecker to collect a bag of trash from the company. She and the jury looked at a picture, taken July 16, 2008, of the garbage bag inside the dumpster. She explained how she collected the bag of trash, with gloves in double bag. She said she only touched it.

The defense had no questions for McBryde.

CHRISTINE NARKIEWICZ

Narkiewicz is a crime scene investigator with the Orange County Sheriff's Office. She explained how she took swabs of Casey's cheek. She also explained how to test hair samples.

Baez cross-examined Narkiewicz on how contamination samples and procedures.

GERALDO BLOISE

Bloise is a crime scene investigator with the Orange County Sheriff's Office. He's been with OCSO for 11 years.

He looked right at the jury when talking about his past careers and training.

Bloise processed Casey's white Pontiac Sunfire. He said it arrived to the evidence bay in good condition. The jury sees pictures of the car, inside and out.

Bloise said in his past profession, at the Puerto Rican Police Department, he smelled 30 to 45 dead bodies. He said when he opened the side door of Casey's car, he immediately smelled decomposition.

He said the gas gauge was working correctly. Casey previously told detectives it was broken, that the gauge showed it was half full but was empty.
