An unthinkable crime leaves a one-year-old girl dead and a Yuma man behind bars.
On Friday, Yuma police arrested 29-year-old Victor Noriega for first degree murder and felony child abuse.
Police say on May 31st, they responded to 511 East Country Club Drive for a call about a non-responsive baby.
That's where officers found lifeless one-year-old Danielle Martinez -- without a pulse and not breathing.
Danielle was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Officers tell News 11 the mother, 22-year-old Sonia Sepulveda, was not home at the time.
However Sepulveda's boyfriend, Noriega, was home.
Autopsy results showed Danielle suffered from significant internal injuries.
The investigation also showed Danielle had previous serious injuries consistent with continuous child abuse.
Yuma Police are still investigating.

On Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 8:40 am, the Yuma Police
& Fire Departments responded to 511 East County Club Drive in
reference to a non-responsive baby.


Upon arrival responders located Danielle Martinez, a 1
year old female, not breathing and without a pulse. She was transported
to the Yuma Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead.
The
mother, Sonia Sepulveda, 22 years old was not at home at the time of
the incident. Her boyfriend, Victor Noriega, 29 years old of Yuma, was
the only person with the victim at the time of the incident.
The
investigation revealed Danielle Martinez had significant internal
trauma on the 31st, in addition to past serious injuries consistent with
continuous child abuse. On Friday, June 3, 2011 at 6:00 pm, Victor
Noriega was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Detention Center
for 1st degree murder and felony child abuse.
The investigation remains active.
The

OK the mother wasn't there when the baby was killed but they indicate that the baby had past serious injuries consistent with continuous child abuse so why didn't the mom notice it before and get her child away from this POS boyfriend before he killed her. As usual, another boyfriend kills a baby.

This POS mother should be in jail. She probably abused her also. Leaving her alone with the POS was abuse in itself. If she didn't do it, she knew he was abusing her baby.

These women who care more about a p e n i s than they do their babies need to be spayed then shipped to prison. The are not innocent.

Yuma man pleads guilty to killing 21-month-old, Az



YUMA, Ariz.(AP)- A Yuma man has pleaded guilty to killing his girlfriend's 21-month-old daughter.

The
Yuma Sun reports that 29-year-old Victor Noriega pleaded guilty Friday
to second-degree murder in the May 2011 death of Danielle Martinez.

Noriega is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 7 and faces between 10 and 22 years in prison.

Authorities found the child not breathing and without a pulse. She was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

The girl's mother wasn't at home at the time.

Police say Noriega was the only person with the girl at the time of the incident.

An
investigation revealed that the girl had suffered internal trauma that
day, in addition to serious injuries in the past consistent with
continuous child abuse.
