Abduction Attempt - 14 yo Girl -Suspects Sought - Wichita KS

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction
with the Wichita-Sedgwick County Exploited and Missing Child Unit is
investigating an attempted abduction in the area of 22000 west 61st Street North.

On June 7th, 2011, between 8:00 and 8:30 p.m. in the
22000 block of West 61st St North there was an attempted abduction of a
14-year-old female by two unknown white males driving an older model black pickup.

The suspect and vehicle descriptions are as follows:

Driver – 18-20 years old, white male, 5’10”-5’11”,
dirty blond hair, long bangs, piercing on his right ear with diamond
stud earring, black gym shorts, white cut off shirt, tennis shoes.

Passenger – 18-20 years old, white male, 5’11”-6’0”,
muscular build, ball cap with white lettering “DC”, black and red gym
shorts, white cut off shirt, tan sandals, brown hair.

Suspect Vehicle - Older unknown black pickup, paint
faded, dark tinted windows, regular cab, and a dent along bottom of the
driver’s door.

If you recognize either of these suspects and/or have
any information about the suspect vehicle, please contact the Exploited

Boy, 10, fabricated attempted abduction

WICHITA, Kansas – Police say a boy who reported a man tried to kidnap him while walking home from school Monday afternoon made the story up.

Man arrested after attempted abduction

WICHITA — A 44-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly attempted to abduct a 15-year-old girl while she was walking home Wednesday night.

I wonder if he really made the story up. Maybe his family didn't like the attention or the thought of him having to testify if the guy is caught.

Four very different accounts of attempted abdutions in Wichita, KS, one presumably false? Spread out over a year or so, but very bizarre.

This is very odd indeed.

Eerie.

I'm still thinking it was not a false report. Why would a kid report something like that out of the blue?

The story was that he kicked a can into the man's vehicle and the man yelled at him for it. The vehicles from the various articles were described as one being a truck (Older unknown black pickup, paint faded, dark tinted windows, regular cab, and a dent along bottom of the driver’s door), one a Chevy Blazer, and one a Chevy Suburban. It was just bizarre that I went to look for one abduction and ended up with an entire slew of them. I'm guessing the elderly gentleman was an anomaly, but who knows what could be true nowadays? I'm not planning a vacation in Wichita anytime soon, just sayin'.
