Maya White, Elijah Williams Missing: Teen Last Seen With Toddler In Albany Park

Two children from Chicago's Albany Park
neighborhood went missing Thursday evening, and police and family
members are asking the public for help finding them.

Maya White, 14 was last seen near the intersection of Pulaski Road
and Wilson Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, according to a missing
person's report. The teen reportedly brought her 3-year-old nephew,
Elijah Williams, along in a wagon to buy a pizza. White's mother went
out looking for the children when they did not return promptly, and saw
them briefly before getting stuck in traffic and losing track of them, according to the Chicago Tribune.

White, who lives in West Rogers Park, reportedly suffers from bipolar
disorder, had not been taking her medication. She went missing less
than a month ago the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Though she has a cell phone, she has not returned any calls or text
messages since Thursday. Fliers have been posted around where the
children were last seen as well in the girl's neighborhood.

White is approximately 5-foot-5 and 145 pounds with black hair, green
eyes and an olive complexion. She was last seen wearing a peach shirt,
blue jeans and black shoes. Elijah is 3-feet-tall and 35 pounds with
blond hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a long-sleeved shirt, brown and
gray pants and was carrying a Sesame Street blanket inside the tan and
blue wagon his aunt pulled him in.

The family is reportedly offering a $1,000 reward for the safe return
of the children. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to call 911.

A Chicago boy who went missing with his teenage aunt has been located.
Elijah Williams,3, was found safe but 14-year-old Maya White remains a missing person. Relatives
say they got a call from Maya around 7 p.m. Friday telling them where
to find Elijah. She had apparently dropped the boy at a friend's house.
By 8 p.m., the 3-year-old was back in his parents' house as an emotional
reunion took place outside their Albany Park home. "When I
talked to him on the phone when they first picked him up, he said he was
watching Power Rangers. And when we were trying to got him out of the
car, he was trying to get his nuggets together. He didn't understand why
there was such a big rush. So, he's fine and hopefully he was just well
taken care of and he doesn't seem to be phased by it," said Autumn
Bastyr, Elijah's mother and Maya's sister. Maya's mother, Sheila Musker, made a plea to her daughter to come home. "I
just want her home safe. That's my message. And we still love her. We
don't understand why she took this action, but we still love her and we
want her home safe," said Musker. Maya and Elijah vanished
Thursday night near Pulaski and Wilson after picking up a pizza from a
restaurant. Musker had followed the pair in a car but lost track of
them. Family members say Maya is bipolar and has not been taking
her medication. She was wearing a peach shirt, jeans and black
shoes. Her hair is dark, but she has blonde bangs. According
to her family, Maya was going to be sent to live in a special home next
month and that may have motivated her to run away. Earlier on Friday, friends took to the streets to hand out flyers on the North Side. Her
family says Maya had recently skipped medication and run away while
living with her mother in Rogers Park. She was later found in the
neighborhood. At the time of this latest disappearance, she was staying

A 3-year-old boy who went missing Thursday was back
in his family's arms Friday night, but his 14-year-old aunt is still on
the run.
Elijah Williams was dropped
off at a residence near West Devon and North Western avenues about
7:30 p.m. Friday by his missing aunt, 14-year-old Maya White, police
said.
The teen then called a
family member to tell them where Williams was. The boy was found to be
in good health when his family arrived at the home.
"He fine and hopefully he
was just well taken care of, and he doesn't seem to be phased by it,"
said the boy's mother, Autumn Bastyr. "We're just really thankful to
have him back and really thankful for all the help."
Family members said White has a history of running away and now say Thursday's incident was planned.
"I had this feeling she was
up to no good," said White's mother, Sheila Musker. "She planned it
yesterday because she had stolen my phone."
White was pulling her
nephew in a wagon along Wilson Avenue after purchasing a pizza on
Thursday evening. Musker drove alongside the two because the wagon would
not fit in the car, police said.
Musker got stuck in traffic and later discovered the two children were gone.
By morning, dozens of family, friends and volunteers had canvassed the area with missing persons flyers.
White has an olive
complexion, stands 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs about 145 pounds.
She has black hair and green eyes and was last seen wearing orange and
white shirts, blue jeans and black gym shoes.

A 14-year-old girl who went missing from the Northwest Side Thursday
evening with her 3-year-old nephew has been found, one day after the
younger child was safely recovered.

Maya White, who according to family members suffers from
bipolar disorder, was being questioned by Near North District detectives
around 6:50 p.m. Saturday, police News Affairs Officer Anne Dwyer said. According to unconfirmed dispatch reports, someone reported seeing
White Saturday afternoon at a fast food stand on the Near North Side.
