Yesterday began with Dr. Gary Utz, Chief Medical Examiner for Orange County, returning to the stand. We were blessed to sit through Cheney Mason questioning Dr. Utz on cross. Cheney Mason acts like the 13th angry man in a Baker’s dozen when he’s questioning. It comes off as pretty campy and ineffective as far as I’m concerned. Other than the defense clearly trying to confuse where the duct tape was on the skull and implying that it might have been manipulated in between crime scene pictures and medical examiner pictures, there wasn’t much more noteworthy things revealed during Dr. Utz’s testimony yesterday.
